When someone motivates me by saying "your mates," I remind the person that my mates are in the cemetry. One of them died by stray bullet a few years back, we attended the same secondary school.
My mates are also currently in Sambisa, fighting terrorists, some are currently on life threatening injuries.
My mates are trying to cross the Sahara in search of good pasture. Some of whom are tortured by slavers and made to work hard labour to fund their illegal journies.
My mates? I don't give a damn about what my mates are doing. I only ask God to help me focus on my path in humility, confidence, and Thanksgiving. Kudos to portfolio holders at 27. It's their path.

He has had an emergency decompressive hemicraniectomy, left-sided, where the likely dominant brain side is damaged forever. He will probably never be able to speak again, and never be able to feel and move the right side of his body.
At his age, the reason for that is most likely a mass intracranial hemorrhage and swelling due to severe head trauma. He must have also spent a long time in a coma, hence the tracheostomy.
This is, without much room for doubt, the face of a tortured man who has barely survived an emergency procedure, which in normal circumstances would be extremely uncommon for someone his age - and whose quality of life has been reduced to almost zero forever.
The benefit is that people enjoy it. The even greater benefit is that groups of people enjoy it together. They shouldnβt overdo it, obviously, but enjoying something is actually a worthwhile benefit for human beings. We arenβt robots. Not every single thing we do needs to be βoptimized.β At a certain point you have to enjoy your life or else whatβs even the point of trying to extend it?
