True investigative journalism will get you fired in 2026!
Fox just tried to erase Maria Bartiromo.
12½ years. Three top-rated shows. First woman to report live from the NYSE floor. Two decades covering markets at CNBC before that. Then Fox puts out a bloodless note that she’s “no longer with Fox News Media,” strips her name off the shows, and gives her no on-air goodbye.
That’s not a tidy farewell. That’s a purge.
Reporting says the trigger was President Trump’s July speech on election integrity and China. Fox internally told talent to stay away from it.
Maria wanted to chase it anyway. Then, per multiple outlets, she shared that internal guidance with the White House. Fox treated it like a firing offense.
Her lawyer, Bryan Freedman — same guy who represented Tucker Carlson — is not playing along. He says reports that she was fired or is no longer a Fox employee are “absolutely and unequivocally false.” He says they have “receipts and witnesses.” This may end up in court. Fox has not walked back its announcement.
You don’t have to buy every 2020 claim to see the point. Fox already paid Dominion $787.5 million and still has Smartmatic hanging over it.
That made the network allergic to anything that smells like 2020. Maria’s beat was always money, trade, supply chains, and China. That’s a business reporter’s job, not a talking-head hobby.
Trump called her a professional and a warrior. That tracks. She didn’t get three number-one shows by being timid.
Lawsuit. Another network. White House role. Whatever comes next — she is not disappearing quietly.
God bless Maria. Watch what she does next.

@TrumpsHurricane He probably should be. My best day farming as a child was the day we turned under our last cotton crop. I can assure you that he has no idea how to pick cotton.
