Lamu Oil Refinery by Dangote means Lappset will be fast-tracked and even Ethiopia and South Sudan will also benefit from it. DRC, Tanzania, Uganda,Rwanda and Burundi have already welcomed the project. The project of expected to be ready in 5 years and so will be the road network.

Once SGR is extended to Malaba, we are going to see very interesting numbers.

SGR made 18.5B in revenue. I wonder what the revenue will look like with extension to Malaba with UG government preferring SGR freight since it connects to their SGR.

Aliko Dangote says his planned 700,000-barrel-per-day oil refinery will be built in Kenya instead of Tanzania.

The project is estimated to cost $15–17 billion (about Sh2.2 trillion) and will supply refined fuel to Kenya and other East African countries.

Crude oil from Turkana is expected to begin moving to Mombasa for export by December 2026.

After years of delays, pilot projects, and repeated "first oil" announcements since 2018, Kenya's long-awaited oil ambitions finally appear to be gaining real momentum.

The project is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs across the construction, development, and production phases, including direct, indirect, and induced employment opportunities.

The question many Kenyans are asking is Will these 3,000+ jobs primarily benefit Turkana residents, or will most of the opportunities go to people from other parts of the country?
