@piskin_nos The past is dead. It's time to build something new. We are heading into a great unknown, and I want to be the one who helps build that infrastructure. Many things have changed since the DAPS project, and I am seeking to be a part of this new era. Adoption has happened. Now, use.
@piskin_nos I am aware of my hiatus. I think it was good for me. I am healthier, more mature, and motivated to do what I always set out to do. It's time to change the world
Why is Privacy A Human Right? Because your money is your business, nobody else’s.
But, privacy does not mean utility or usage. There must be another layer of utility beyond the most basic concept of true privacy. Utility determines adoption. Adoption strengthens the system. 1/3
With (true) privacy, the most basic need is met. But what comes after that? Privacy is not a utility in and of itself.
There must be a use case & culture of innovation. Water is the most basic resource on earth. But it can be used to make a multitude of other goods. Be water 3/3
The first, and most basic, is the freedom of speech. But it cannot exist in a vacuum. It must be defended from incursions of various types, bureaucratic, physical, legal, and internal threats. Hence the multitudes of amendments.
The first, and most basic need is for privacy 2/3
@willywoo Bitcoin already showed price resilience when it hit 14k this year on no positive news. The ebb and flow is normal and to be expected. Hash is still near all time highs, for a reason.
Nothing in the recent research shows me anything that shows they can crack the privacy therein, therefore it does not make MW “vulnerable” to deanonymization. For one, deobfuscation requires both parties to disclose certain information. A single party cannot de-encrypt, AFAIK 2/2
Regarding @GrinMW#Mimblewimble vulnerabilities: All single protocols do have certain holes or exploits. This is why you have redundancies and fallbacks. Grin is not singularly based on MW. Full privacy is not easy! This does not make it impossible, nor exploitable. 1/2
