Seeing all the nesters last night was such a terrific way to kick-off #SDU22. First time seeing everyone in person for a long time! What a fab group of people 😊 @asa_nest
Thank you to everyone involved in creating this piece @1hannahscott @DrNicoleLovato @SleepPsych_Aus@BeiSci
This is an important topic of discussion in an area of sleep I am very passionate about. I am excited to continue investigating this phenomenon and eager to make an impact
Can we please decide on a universal term to describe the subjective-objective sleep discrepancy observed in insomnia? I have recently heard it referred to as SODS, DOSS, sleep-state misperception, sleep-state misestimation...and I am sure I am forgetting a few variations😅
Language matters! A collaboration led by @DarahBree with @DrNicoleLovato, @SleepPsych_Aus and @BeiSci on the terms used to describe a classic sleep phenomenon commonly seen in people with insomnia
The term sleep-state misperception can be problematic in insomnia treatment, as it can imply implicit, if not explicit, blame. We argue here that "sleep-wake state discrepancy" should be used instead. @DarahBree@1hannahscott @DrNicoleLovato @BeiSci
