A hormonal or emotional shift creates a powerful, difficult urge, but it does not erase a person's ultimate capacity for self-control. Same thing in men with high testosterone.
There is no structural destruction to the prefrontal cortex (unlike a physical brain tumor, a severe stroke, or advanced dementia) the brain's executive functioning system is still fully capable of stepping in. It can say, "I am furious and overwhelmed right now, but I cannot act on this impulse.”
Same thing in men with high testosterone.
Reason and authentic revelation cannot genuinely conflict. They issue from the same source. Where the apparent sense of a text contradicts what reason has demonstrated, interpretation is is an obligation.
Reason establishes on its own that God exists, that prophecy is possible, that a given prophet is truthful. Revelation supplies what reason cannot reach such as the unseen, the specifics of worship, the shape of what comes after.
Moral value is not manufactured by revelation. Reason apprehends good and evil in the act itself. Justice is not good because it was commanded, it was commanded because it is good, and a man who never received a scripture can still see that gratitude is owed to a benefactor. Revelation confirms, sharpens, and extends what reason perceives. It does not create morality out of nothing.
Where no plausible interpretation exists, the honest move is to suspend judgment and consign the meaning to God.
Not necessarily true. That wasn’t always the case, and even today it’s not entirely comparable. These other groups all got their queues and victim-narratives tailored made hand wrapped and gifted to them from Jews. Jews embolden and ignite these groups to be used as tools against White Christians. Immigrants in the 80’s and 90’s voted and behaved very differently than they do today in the 2020’s.
