@3randyn Bro doesn’t even remember this or care. $500 he’s been getting high since. These people who conveniently placed GoPros did it for the clips… they’re all taking selfies. Lol. The police were like “let the bum die.” 😂
@theutahepidemic@Bill_Tibbitts He’s just camping. 🏕️ SLC is an outdoor enthusiasts dream city. Until the Gondola 🚠 is built with billions of taxpayer funds people who don’t drive will have to make due by camping in parks, especially since Mendenhall closed access to City Creek Canyon until next year.
@locke_or_demos@MarinasHammer Which is funny because that’s one of the main reasons Smith threatened to leave downtown unless he got a billion dollars and control of acres of land surrounding the arena. Now salt place is closing for 3 years and downtown hotels and restaurants will suffer causing more blight.
@troyrushton64@grok@MarinasHammer She’s not part of the fight, she’s part of the problem. Would you want her in front of your home being loud, yelling and stirring up these people? There is no fight. This neighborhood is mostly drug people. It’s been engrained for decades and worsened with the homeless shelter.
@BlakeMcClary Because the Aves are more populated, greener and doesn’t have homeless encampments plus has an active firework ban. The city has failed in mitigating the encampments and trash in hell canyon / victory road. Showing up a day after the fire to kick people out… too little too late.
@empey_ry@MarinasHammer@jcbwebs She’s totally proud of it. Every dollar she squeezes out of people and every dream or business she destroys she feels like she’s accomplished sometbing.
@troyrushton64@grok@MarinasHammer Nearly 30 years ago I lived in this neighborhood. It hasn’t changed. It’s full of drugged out losers & was depressing to be around. I moved. I don’t waste my time or put myself in danger dealing with losers who’s only concerns are getting high and fighting each for cigarettes.
@theutahepidemic Its probably from restaurants being overtaxed, $3.50 an hour street parking and suburbanites not feeling comfortable being downtown when half the people they see on the street look like they haven’t showered in a month. City Creek doesn’t have this problem because it’s private.
@theutahepidemic@slcmayor@slcCouncil@slcpd@ChiefBrianRedd@BrighamTomco That woman spends hours a day harassing and antagonizing these drug users. Truth is this is normal for that neighborhood and most of downtown SLC. Half the people you see outside are drug people. Push them out and we have wildfires on the hillside and encampments in Liberty Park.
@RykerJackson97 I don’t like that crucifix statue… it’s kind of a buzzkill. Temple square was always a lighthearted and happy place where families gather downtown to see the Christmas lights or celebrate newly weds. Seeing Jesus battered and dragging his own cross doesn’t pass the vibe check.
@lmtfitts@slcmayor@slcCouncil I’m from the East Coast. When I first moved to SLC in 1997 I lived near there. Drugs, shootings, constant fighting and police. It was depressing. The neighborhood is arguably worse now. Liberty and Trolley are also not very well kept or safe areas to live. This is engrained.
@lmtfitts@slcmayor@slcCouncil You’d literally have to bulldoze the drug apartment complex across the street which is an entire city block, remove the new homeless shelter a block away and weed out dozens of problem families who are cemented in that neighborhood. It is what it is. I lived there 30 years ago
