Somebody somewhere who doesn’t have Lasis’s kind of money, leverage or influence will still be somewhere thinking he’s overdoing with this video. That’s how messed up Nigerians who are at the most vulnerable status wise are. My biggest win in recent times is significantly toning down the emotional part of me that craves a better Nigeria. The emotional stress isn’t worth it. You can’t help people that don’t want to be helped.
Calgary police have charged 16 men with 56 offences in a violent extortion campaign targeting the city’s South Asian community, including shootings, arson and planned kidnappings.
Calgary police statement:
@lasisielenu@dangbanamanager Biggest fear…if God says you will live longer, Nigeria will cut your life at 10 years old. We have folks in Canada living since birth on a drug of over $20,000 monthly and still alive till 60 years old. If they were born in Nigeria, they will not live.
SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: My Unlawful Detention on Election Eve
I write this to set the record straight about my unlawful arrest hours before the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.
WHAT HAPPENED
Around 11:15 PM on election day, well before curfew. While visiting multiple INEC Registration Area Centers in my local government to monitor electoral operations. At an INEC Registration Area Center facility, I observed APC thugs attempting to forcibly gain entry to areas where sensitive electoral materials were being stored. The Civil Defense operatives on duty handled this professionally and prevented a breakdown of law and order.
THE ILLEGAL DETENTION
After the thugs blocked the road, and said no one would leave and one of the thugs made a call and within 20 minutes, a military convoy arrived, led by a man in civilian attire identified as Wemimo claiming to be from “Presidency”. Civil Defense on duty refused him entry to the RAC, then Wemimo spotted me outside and then proceeded to show a uniformed LT Colonel a photograph of me, and said: “He is on the list of those we were asked to pick.” during that commotion a man later identified as Esho, a political thug that accompanied Wemimo to the venue slapped me, the military officers immediately challenged him.
I was then told I will need to accompany them to the military barracks in Ede, 45 minutes away from my local government. The Lt Colonel who was with Wemimo was very cordial, he offered me to enter his Hilux with him seating next to me and Wemimo in front with a driver.
THE ADMISSION
During the drive, Wemimo admitted to me directly that he was acting on orders from Senator Fadahunsi to remove me from circulation during the election. This was a calculated political move, not a mistake.
DETENTION DETAILS
Upon arriving At the barracks, my phones were confiscated. I was not charged with any crime or electoral violation. I was allowed to remain in my vehicle which drove behind me after the arrest. I stayed overnight in my van with gallant and respectful military men guarding and monitoring me.
THE RELEASE
Early the next morning, a Brigadier General called the guard on duty, apologized profusely, and stated explicitly that *there was no legal basis for my detention.* I was released immediately and offered military escort back to my local government, so I can cast my vote. The action which Senator Fadahunsi was trying to prevent, with the hope that we would not update the world with details of his attrocities and electoral malpractices on social media.
WHY THIS MATTERS
This was not an isolated incident. Senator Fadahunsi orchestrated this to suppress my participation in election monitoring for Governor Adeleke. This is the same Senator who has previously made inflammatory statements about violence against Accord members.
THE PEOPLE'S VERDICT
Despite this attempt at suppression, the people spoke:
✓ Governor Adeleke won my polling unit
✓ Governor Adeleke won my ward
✓ Governor Adeleke won my local government
ACCOUNTABILITY
This gross abuse of power, having a police officer on illegal duty lead military personnel for political detention cannot go unchecked. I call on:
• Judicial authorities to investigate and hold those responsible accountable
• The military high command to review how political actors misused military personnel
• Civil society and international observers to document this abuse
GRATITUDE
I extend profound thanks to the numerous leaders across political parties, traditional institutions, civil society, and the international observer community who responded immediately to protect my rights and ensure this ended in justice.
This was an attempt at suppression. It failed. The people have spoken
Bamikole (Banks) Omisore
Special Adviser, Sustainable Development Goals & Multilateral Relations
Osun State Executive Council
Let me also add that @OgbeniDipo, a supposedly educated and enlightened individual who many of us now know is valueless had the guts to tweet that @MrBanksOmisore was released because his APC leaders had mercy on him, directly confirming that the police were being controlled by his leaders.
That context is something we should never forget. If given the chance, Dipo himself will harass, intimidate and oppress people who are against him.
Spiritual warfare doesn't just happen at the individual level. It can also happen at a societal level.
As Christians, we must be wise and understand what we're looking at when we see something like this.
