Founder learning in public. Pivoted from inventory mgmt to solving cold outreach for sales reps. Documenting the entire messy journey from 0 to 100 conversation
Hello there
Just started a challenge to build:
5 SAAS apps before 2026.
It’s Day 06✌️
I’m here watching @starter_story full videos. Those people have many very common things.
I’m here to share my journey and build in pubic. Who can relate ?
Forget features.
If a tool solved your biggest workflow problem, what's one word to describe how it should feel?
(e.g., "Magical," "Effortless," "Powerful").

Building my "NOT To-Do" list first.
The most important product decisions aren't what you build, but what you proudly refuse to build.
What a counterintuitive thing is that !

Studying Google's original homepage for inspiration.
How many of us noticed #Google won by subtracting, not by adding, even if it seems counterintuitive .
The lesson:
don't build a dashboard when all the user wants is a simple box.

The research phase is closing. I have my thesis.
Now, the question isn't "what's the problem,"
it's "what's the most elegant way to solve it?"
The next chapter begins.

Mindset shift:
Stop thinking about "tools for work."
Start thinking about "tools for thought."
A tool that doesn't just help you do, but helps you think, is 10x more valuable.

How painful is this scenario in a scale of 1-10 ? 🥶
Spending 25 mins crafting a perfect email, only to find out the prospect's company just had a layoff.
I say 9/10.
You?

@technohustler Being specific and trying to solve ‘very’ specific(niche) problem feels like narrowing your chance of winning as we naturally tend to go wide and serve the mass.
Isn’t that relevant for you ?
What is the case for you ?
I finally wrote it down: A "manifesto" for the problem I'm solving.
A core philosophy.
Scary to be this specific, but it's the only way to build something with a soul.
Doesn't be specific scare you ?

The 80/20 rule of prospect research:
80% of value comes from 20% of the data.
That 20% is all about recent, relevant "conversation starters."
Everything else is noise.

The great sales debate:
More automation vs. more personalization.
My take: They're not opposites.
Reps want to automate the gathering, not the thinking.
My life right now:
A single spreadsheet with hundreds of rows, trying to find the signal in the noise of community feedback.
This is the unglamorous part of #buildinpublic.
When the problem you're solving lives in your head rent-free on a Saturday...
.
.
.
You know you're onto something. This is obsession.
Being obsessed is a part of me I really love.
Do the problem you solve make is up at mid night ?

The results are in from my "Prospect Cheat Sheet" question.
The 3 must-haves are all about:
"Finding an entry point to a real conversation."
Less data, more rapport.
Fascinating.
Weekly recap:
The pain point is real. The pattern is emerging.
Next week I'll go from researcher to builder and start sketching the first ugly prototype. The pace is picking up.
