FRESH OFF THE PRESS: EGLD POSITIONED FOR US INSTITUTIONAL ADOPTION 🇺🇸
Arizona Senate Bill 1649 establishes the first Digital Assets Strategic Reserve Fund in the United States, with EGLD named directly in the bill text. The bill introduces an evaluation framework written into law, measuring network strength, development improvements, performance benchmarks.
Fourteen assets made the cut. EGLD one of them. This matters far beyond a single state. SB1649 sets a legal precedent for how governments can evaluate and hold digital assets following a deep review of fundamental measurable criteria. The fact that Arizona’s legislature looked at the data and included MultiversX technology alongside Bitcoin and other assets speaks volumes to what the team has been building for years: real infrastructure, real usage, real resilience.
If this passes the full House vote, Arizona becomes the first US state to hold a diversified crypto reserve, and EGLD is eligible from day one.
Institutional frameworks are being built around networks and assets enabling a robust and resilient foundation to build on for the future.
A great example of long efforts from people who care, builders and entrepreneurs from around the world, showing up, and finding new ways to bring contributions to the ecosystem. cc @DigitalGoldTalk

Who's Actually Building?
171,000 commits. #6 in the entire blockchain industry.
Ahead of Bitcoin. Ahead of Solana. Ahead of Avalanche, NEAR, Sui, Polygon, Aptos, and TON. Almost 2x Solana. Nearly 3.5x Aptos. The data is public.
I'm not writing this to flex. I'm writing it because the people doing the real work deserve to see it reflected somewhere other than a Git log.
───
Building through a market like this is brutal.
The price bleeds. Liquidity gets extracted by professionals who've never deployed a contract. Narratives rotate every two weeks. The projects that survive aren't the loudest, they're the ones that refuse to stop shipping.
We shipped Supernova while the market did everything it could to make us irrelevant. 150,000 lines of new protocol code. 20 months. A complete rearchitecture of how consensus and execution interact.
88ms block finality on 600ms slots. The block finalizes before the round ends. 120,000 TPS burst mode on the same validator hardware. 3,200+ nodes. Full sharding intact.
We didn't build this because the market asked for it. We built it because it was the right thing to build.
───
The market rewards narratives. It rewards projects that rename themselves to match whatever's trending.
It doesn't reward the team that designed inclusion proofs so blocks finalize before execution completes. It doesn't reward 171,000 commits. It barely notices.
But here's the thing, infrastructure doesn't need the market's permission to work. Over 500 million transactions processed. 3,200+ validator nodes across four continents. And now, sub-second finality on every transaction type.
───
People ask: "What's left for blockchain when AI takes over everything?"
Wrong question.
AI agents need to transact autonomously. They need identity. They need programmable money that settles in milliseconds. They need micropayments at scale without a human clicking "approve."
Credit cards can't do this. Bank wires can't do this. These rails were built for humans, not machines.
This is where the entire stack is converging. Look at what happened in the last 90 days:
Visa launched agentic payment tools. Mastercard acquired BVNK for $1.8B. Coinbase is pushing x402 hard. Circle is racing for stablecoin dominance. Stripe built ACP with OpenAI.
They're all building pieces of the same stack:
identity, payments, settlement, stablecoins.
We built the whole thing. On one chain.
x402 for autonomous agent payments. MX-8004 for on-chain agent identity. UCP, ACP, AP2, MCP for agent communication and commerce. xMoney for regulated stablecoin issuance and fiat-to-crypto connectivity under MiCA. Relayed v3 for gasless transactions so agents don't need to hold tokens to start.
Six protocols. Regulated stablecoins. Fiat rails. One network.
The stack that Visa, Stripe, and Coinbase are assembling from separate pieces, we shipped as a unified layer.
───
And the community.
Every validator who kept running through the drawdown. Every builder who deployed when nobody was watching. Every staker who stayed.
171,000 commits. Supernova. Battle of Nodes. Cointelegraph joining as a validator. EGLD named in an Arizona state strategic reserve bill.
The signals are there. The infrastructure is live. The convergence between AI, payments, and blockchain isn't five years away. It's happening now.
The teams that built through the hard part don't need to pivot when the opportunity arrives. They're already there.
We're already there.
Rebuilding Elrond, The Great Transition
We are approaching what feels like one of the most trajectory-altering milestones in our brief history. Not just for the network, or for the ecosystem. But for every single person who has believed, built, or simply held on.
Over the past weeks, I've had the same conversation, in different forms, almost every day. Some brief. Some deeply illuminating. But all circling the same gravitational center: what is the thing that recaptures attention, ours and the world's, and puts us back at the frontier?
The first conversation has been with the team. Watching them build this new engine that has emerged, slowly, painstakingly, and then almost at once. There are two ways to look at it. One is technical, studying the system, the code, the architecture, appreciating the years of effort compressed into something objectively and fundamentally better. The second way is simpler, more immediate, almost visceral: execute a simple transaction on “the old MultiversX architecture”. Then execute the same simple transaction on Supernova. If you have the eyes to see it, that moment right there, is staggering.
Observing both, the meticulous building and then the results, that somehow still surprise me. You understand that something foundational has changed, and this time, you can really feel it. This week, we are closing in on the last known bugs, preparing for a final wave of specialized chaos testing before the public battles begin. A refreshing milestone.
To come back to the question, this new Supernova experience provides the first and strong answer. One that reshapes what users, builders, and investors weigh when they look at a project like ours. A new standard for speed. For scalability. For resilience. For what it actually feels like to use a blockchain. This is Supernova.
The second conversation took me through the same point, but from the opposite angle. We revisited the same question with a long-time investor, someone who has been part of Elrond, then MultiversX, through all the seasons. Once I showed him Supernova in practice, something shifted. He saw it differently. So much so that he found this great moment to take the opportunity and add a significant new position to his EGLD stake.
The Elves are, slowly, coming back.
People who have been here for years, the good years and the difficult years, are returning to look with fresh eyes at everything that has been built. While markets have been brutal across the board, taking a close look at this sometimes excruciating progress is humbling.
It opens a different perspective on what now becomes possible.
A good moment to pause. Take a closer look. Test the new experience. Let it become what it was always meant to be: a rebirth.
Supernova.
Day 2 - A Quest To Rebuild Elrond, But What Did Elrond Stand For?
If you think about it, Elrond achieved quite a lot. At least, much much more than people thought it would.
Consider where it began. A small country, in Eastern Europe. Built by an unlikely team, most people never heard of. Self-funded until a certain point, and then funded quite modestly. In a time and place where if you'd had asked around, no one would have believed such a thing could even be possible.
But unbeknownst to most people, this small underdog team would go on to achieve the impossible. Literally. Writing a breakthrough architecture from scratch. Going through hundreds of trials to make it work. Days bleeding into nights, and nights into weeks of struggle. Coming quite close, very close, to biting the bullet, and dying. Several times.
Yet through all of it, slowly, steadily, that small team delivered something most people still struggle to fully grasp, even years after launch. An open-source network, built from nothing, delivering a 1000x improvement in throughput over the status quo via sharding.
Now, it's worth pausing for a second and asking, what did Elrond stand for, really? What won the people over, against a massive backdrop of disbelief?
A few things, probably.
For one, the team was small. Nimble. Fast. They shipped. Faster than most. They didn't wait for permission or good weather before attempting the impossible. They jumped headlong into the water and found a way.
Two. Despite every challenge that hit, and some hit hard, the team did not die. Each blow only made them more relentless. This might seem like a strange thing to list, but when looking around at the hundreds of projects that raised 10x or 100x more money and simply vanished, perspective shifts.
Three. And perhaps most important, in Elrond, people saw a rare and unlikely dream finally taking shape, and coming to reality. A new financial system, one where they could be more than consumers. A system they could own a piece of. A system arguably better than what existed, where they could hold a direct stake. As obvious and crazy as this may sound today, seven years ago (which feels like an eternity now) this idea seemed pretty radical and borderline ludicrous. At least outside the technical and startup circles.
*Elrond was perhaps the most ambitious startup of its kind. Building something that looked like the future, felt like the future, and worked like the future, where ordinary people could actually participate.*
That was pretty radical, and rare. And it changed many people's perspectives and lives.
Elrond stood for opportunity. The kind you encounter perhaps once in a lifetime, if you are fortunate enough. It stood for ambition. For resourcefulness. For just building things. It stood for a different future. One open to anyone who saw it, believed in it, and wanted to be part of it.
Elrond delivered a radically better solution. It raised the standard. It pushed people to be better. To do better. To ask how they could contribute. To build things themselves.
We wanted Elrond to be the backbone of a high-bandwidth, low-latency financial system. And we wanted to give anyone, anywhere, easy access to it.
The direction was spot on. But the timing, and many other pieces, were not quite there yet.
With Supernova, we have a genuine chance to make that vision a reality. To push the boundaries once more across performance, resilience, and user experience, in a way that has not been done before.
*We stand now at a moment much like the one before Elrond's mainnet launch. But the opportunity that lies ahead of us, the lessons we've learned, the capabilities we've acquired, the adoption landscape that presents itself, all of it far outstrips our previous conception of what was truly possible.*
Elrond stood for something. People loved it, and they stood for it. Now is the time to take that essence, and embed it at the very heart of what comes next.
Supernova.
Day 1 - A Quest To Rebuild Elrond
2026 will be a quest to take the best of what we achieved and built with Elrond, the vision, the breakthroughs, the scars, the victories, and expand it into something far greater. Pushing beyond known limits. Crossing the frontier once again.
Today, we begin with the very foundation on which everything is built: the network itself.
The time has come to vote for Supernova.
Supernova is the milestone marking a new genesis event. A complete remaking of the entire network architecture from the ground up. This is how we achieve levels of performance, resilience, and user experience that not very long ago seemed impossible to conceive. A network that *works* and *feels* like the future. A network that is instantaneous. Offering a magical experience for users and builders.
This is a turning point. A fork in the road, toward a qualitatively different and better future.
Tomorrow, the Supernova vote begins.
2026 is fully on.
And it feels like we are granted a new chance, to start from scratch afresh.
So, a few simple thoughts I intend to apply first and foremost to myself every single day of this year, and wish for all of you here.
The courage to take action. To try things. To do things.
The unyielding belief that *you simply can*. That, come what may, you have it in you to find a way.
The ingenuity to discern the winds of change, and dare remake them in your favour.
This is my simple wish for the year. For myself, and all of you.
As it begins anew, I dive into it headlong. Ready for where it may take us.
Happy new year, friends! This one is ours for the taking. 👊
Supernova is a technological wonder.
It is a complete reimagining of the entire Elrond/MultiversX architecture. Taking blockchains to a new frontier of scalability, speed, and decentralization.
Achieving an unmatched performance, across key defining metrics.
What this results in, is a true magic moment for users, builders, and investors. A deep realization that user experience, that performance, just feels magical. And it just works.
You tap on a transaction. And it just works. Instantly. Fully done.
Yet for that transaction to complete, it does a few things, faster than you can think about them. Package and order data, communicate it with many node parties, and travel around the world in half of a blink of an eye. Going through a complex process of validation and agreement (consensus). And getting executed in a beautiful way for the user. All of this in an *instant*.
That is what a breakthrough looks like. How it feels for users, to almost live in the future, once again.
This is what we are relentlessly working on.
This new breakthrough revives the crypto dream. A new and better form of money. A new and better financial system. Gradually reimagining different financial services on top.
A fiber network for finance. Accessible to anyone, anywhere.
Humans, and machines alike. This is Supernova.
In a macro landscape where capital is fleeing slow, siloed systems, stablecoins are emerging as the global settlement layer of the internet.
EURXM, USDXM, and RONXM are the cryptographic rails that let value move with finality, auditability, and regulatory-grade trust.
They bridge the two worlds by anchoring fiat 1:1 in a MiCA-compliant framework while exposing it to blockchain execution, allowing money to settle at the speed of light with programmable certainty.
This milestone is the inflection point for xMoney:
regulated stablecoins natively wired into our payment gateway, issuing stack, and card ecosystem.
This is how we collapse borders, remove intermediaries, and let businesses transact on infrastructure that scales with the internet, not against it.
It’s been an incredible journey so far, and we’re only accelerating.
Explore the new whitepapers and get ready.
The next wave of xMoney innovation is already on the move, and it’s landing on MultiversX and Sui.
Three currencies. One standard.
EURXM, USDXM & RONXM, are fully MiCA-regulated stablecoins launching in June 2026. Read the whitepapers below.

„Alege-ți eroi buni și copiază-i.
