I will always remember this Al Jazeera interview with William Ruto.

After calling the youth treasonous.
After police bullets had already taken young lives.

When asked if he regretted ordering police to shoot protesters, he looked into the camera and said:
“I don’t regret.”
That told us everything.

Youth were killed.
Mothers were lost.
Children were caught in the violence.
Families are still grieving.

Yet he lacked any empathy & hasn't ensured those killed or injured get justice.

Now, as elections draw closer, we see smiles, handshakes, talk of compensation.
But tell me, can money replace a life?

Leadership is not marketing. It is accountability.

In 2023, Okiya Omtatah and other petitioners filed a petition challenging the constitutionality of the Housing Levy.

In November 2023, the High Court declared housing levy unconstitutional and suspended it's collection.

The killer regime ran to court of appeal to challenge the ruling and in January 2024, a three judge bench upheld the high court ruling, maintaining that housing levy was illegal unconstitutional.

And in July 2024, the court of appeal declared the entire Finance Act 2023 unconstitutional, in a similar petition also filed by Okiya Omtatah.

Then, commercial lawmakers, the MPigs seating at the National Assembly, were oiled and instructed to illegally reintroduce and amend the housing levy.

How do you amend what was part of the Finance Act which was declared unconstitutional?

The rot in this country, the problems we are crying about, the burden are all caused by commercial lawmakers.

You are taxed to build houses, and the same houses built on public land are sold to other people who can afford them.

Remember that the Auditor General reported that there's Ksh 20B affordable housing loan which cannot be accounted for.

A Murderous regime which came to steal,to kill and to destroy!

In 2023, Okiya Omtatah and others took the Housing Levy to court: it was ruled unconstitutional by the High Court in Nov 2023, collection halted.

Court of Appeal backed it in Jan 2024, calling it illegal. Then in July 2024, the same court threw out the entire Finance Act 2023 as unconstitutional.
Yet greedy MPs (our so-called "commercial lawmakers") got greased up and sneaked the levy back through dodgy amendments and a new bill.
How do you "fix" and reimpose something the courts already struck down as null and void? Pure arrogance.
The mess we're in (sky-high taxes, endless burdens) comes straight from these sell-out politicians.We're forced to pay into a scheme that builds "affordable" houses on public land... only for them to be sold off to the rich who can pay up.
And don't forget: the Auditor General just flagged nearly Ksh 20 billion in affordable housing loans that vanished: no records, no trace. Straight-up theft.
This regime came to loot, kill dreams, and wreck lives.
