@Bigalanh5 @kelvmackenzie My understanding is that the “money” wasn’t there to disappear. The PO merely treated the non sales as real and took them into profits. It was a fictitious book transaction and the PO should be prosecuted for fraudulently recording sales that did not happen.

@MartinSLewis My wife and I took out a mortgage interest only with an endowment policy in 1972 and moved several times and renewed both. By the time of our last move the endowment matured and was sufficient to repay the mortgage in 2002.
