As the father of four daughters and brother of five sisters, this picture of Sadia Moalim, captured today when her sentence of three years was being announced, hit my heart.
Justice for Sadia.

Govt deports Somalia's Deputy PM Jibril Abdirashid Haji after JKIA immigration officials allegedly linked him to a fraudulently acquired Kenyan passport.
“We are reviewing our entire policy toward Somaliland. We also apologize for individuals on our side who have used offensive language” Outgoing President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said, amid comments by Defence Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, who has frequently drawn attention for strong criticism and harsh rhetoric toward Somaliland.”
~RASKAMBOONI 2~
The President of Jubbaland, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has expressed his support for Puntland against the illegal actions of the failed federal government whose mandate has expired. He speaks from experience, recalling how Jubbaland and its people have shown resilience and determination in defending their land and their rights during difficult times. We appreciate and thank the Jubbaland administration for its voice of support and their solidarity.
Now more than ever, it is up to the people of Puntland to stand together and protect the progress and sacrifices made over the past 30+ years. We have no place for opportunist politicians who are willing to destabilize their own land and people in exchange for the approval of a man whose divisive policies have left the country in a fragile state. Puntland jiritaankeeda ma ahan mana noqoniso bargaining chip.
We stand behind the government led by President Said Abdullahi Deni and hope that peace, unity, and stability prevail, bi’idnillah.

I strongly condemn the arbitrary and unlawful arrest of Abdulkadir Abukar Ali Dirshe of @Somali_Stream by the outmandated administration of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Abdulkadir’s arrest is not an isolated incident. It is part of a systematic campaign to silence journalists, youth activists, and other citizens who peacefully exercise their right to freedom of expression. This campaign has been marked by arrests without judicial warrants, prolonged detention without charge, denial of access to legal counsel, failure to promptly bring detainees before competent courts, and the misuse of state security institutions to intimidate, harass, and suppress dissent.
An administration that fears independent journalism and peaceful criticism reveals not strength but insecurity. Resorting to repression instead of accountability reflects intolerance of dissent, a lack of confidence in its own legitimacy, and a profound disregard for the rule of law and fundamental freedoms. A government committed to democratic principles responds to criticism with transparency and accountability—not intimidation and arbitrary detention.
I call for the immediate and unconditional release of Abdulkadir Abukar Ali Dirshe and all those who have been unlawfully detained for peacefully exercising their constitutional rights and fundamental freedoms. I also urge the authorities to end the persecution of journalists and human rights defenders and to uphold Somalia’s constitutional and international human rights obligations.
Truth cannot be imprisoned. Justice cannot be silenced. No administration whose mandate has expired can suppress the legitimate aspirations of a people determined to secure justice, freedom, equality, and the rule of law.
