Fun fact: ~25-30% of Latin America is now Evangelical Christian. This number was nearly 0% 50 years ago.
This is the great replacement they don't tell you about.
We now must contemplate how the killing of Ayatollah’s father and small grand-nieces during what was supposed to be a period of negotiation is impacting Iran’s current diplomatic strategy in Geneva. In fact, it is very possible that the Iranians understand that the US has around 60 days of oil in its SPR left, and once they breach the minimums there within 60 days, Tehran knows that the US economy goes off a cliff, and Trump and his political future end pretty humiliatingly. It is very possible that the Iranians have no intention of making a deal, and they just want to get revenge on Trump.
still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them
Tim Dillon on America: “We’re not the high school bully anymore. We’re the weird kid who may have a gun. We’re not the bully, we’re not the jock, we’re not the quarterback. This is not Top Gun, we are not Tom Cruise. We’re the college kid who keeps going to the high school parties. We’re a pedophile and we may have a gun”
We are in deep, deep trouble.
A reader wrote in to me this week saying that they wouldn't read my Trump corruption story because ChatGPT "fact-checked the piece" and informed them most of it was false.
Among other things, ChatGPT told them that there is no Iran war, Jared Kushner is not a negotiator in the war, Qatar never offered Trump a $400 million plane, George Santos wasn't pardoned, the NYTimes did not report on Syrian billionaires lobbying Trump for sanctions relief, Trump never launched a meme coin, and World Liberty Financial (the Trump family crypto firm) doesn't exist.
Of course, all of these things ARE real, do exist, and are happening right now. Apparently, the reader copy and pasted the text of my story into ChatGPT, and without the links ChatGPT couldn't confirm any of it. Once the reader sent ChatGPT the link to the story, it ended up concluding all the facts were correct.
How many people simply don't know how to use AI and are offloading all their thinking? It's a terrifying thought. And a totally new frontier of reality to navigate.
🚨 Do you understand what Russia just did to the entire Western sanctions regime..
> the G7 froze $300,000,000,000 in Russian assets and called it economic isolation..
> Western leaders spent 2 years saying the Ruble was collapsing..
> Europe built an entire foreign policy around cutting Russia off from dollar-denominated trade..
> Russia just announced all future oil and gas deals with Europe will be priced in Russian Rubles and Chinese Yuan..
> not dollars.. not euros.. the currency the West tried to destroy is now the mandatory payment method for European energy..
> every euro Europe spends on Russian gas now flows directly into the Ruble..
> the sanctions were designed to collapse the Russian economy.. Europe may now be legally required to BUY the Ruble to keep its lights on..
every single policy the West built over the last 2 years just got turned against them in a single announcement..
all of this.. one Wednesday..
if you're not following me you're finding out about this 48 hours late from someone who read my post..
it's only getting crazier from here..
The plan is greater Israel by any means necessary. That’s it. There is no other 12D chess going on here. The war is destroying the petrodollar, they don’t give a fuck. It’s not part of some deep strategy involving energy resources, it strengthens China immensely. They don’t care. They will burn everything to the ground to try to get greater Israel.
It was a common error in analysis to treat the Iraq war as “stupid” or “a mistake.” Paul Bremer dismissing the Iraqi army, obliterating the state through De-Ba'athification, creating the insurgency. It doesn’t make any sense as a strategy unless you understand that the war was for Israel.
The Iraqi state had to be pulverized so it could never again threaten Israel. Iraqi academics, engineers, specialists of all kinds had to be killed or chased out in terror. Then ditto in Libya, ditto in Syria. The only plan is to try to do that to Iran.
None of this was “a mistake.” None of it was “stupid.” The actual goals were just different from the justifications presented for public consumption.
The Israel lobby is immensely powerful but a war with Iran was always the one thing they couldn’t get. U.S. state planners since the Iranian revolution have understood what closure of the strait of Hormuz would mean. It is apocalyptic for the maintenance of the petrodollar that the U.S. empire depends on.
The lobby has been working our government for decades now. They’ve finally got a president blackmailed enough and a deep state zogged enough that the initial start of the war could go forward. Now they’re riding on the back of a tiger.
The cost of living crisis is coming home. They have to keep the war going over what will be increasing civil unrest. Eventually they’re going to push Trump into doubling down. The goal is to go nuclear. That’s what they think is the way out. Nuking Iran.
This is genocidal madness. It’s why everyone in Congress needs to be held accountable for not funding a single dollar for this illegal war. It’s why the anti war movement in this country needs to wake up and recognize that we are in a crisis moment. Our passivity will be taken by the ruling class as permission to do the unthinkable.
🚨🚨🚨 INFO FROM INSIDE IBM VIA *CONFIRMED* INSIDER:
"IBM laid off 9k US workers (last year) and replaced them with “AI” -- when in reality they’ve had over 3k new people join in their India offices.
Nearly 85% of senior leadership is Indian and they keep pushing for jobs in Kochi and Bangalore."
AI just means ANOTHER INDIAN.
What was meant to be a show of force has spiraled into a full-blown agricultural disaster. T.r.u.m.p’s latest potash tariffs were designed to pressure Canada, but instead they detonated inside America’s own farming heartland. In an emergency meeting at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a senior Trump adviser reportedly admitted the unthinkable: the policy had backfired so badly that American farmers may not survive the growing season.
Canada wasted no time. As the world’s largest potash supplier, Ottawa redirected exports to Asia and Europe within days, locking in billion-dollar contracts and tightening its grip on the global fertilizer market. One Canadian official mocked the situation bluntly, saying that if the U.S. doesn’t want Canadian potash, the rest of the world gladly will.
On the ground in Iowa, the consequences turned personal. A U.S. farmer broke down during a live interview, explaining that without Canadian potash, crops simply cannot be grown at scale. The result is stark: Canada posts record profits and cements its status as the undisputed “fertilizer king,” while the United States loses control of a critical supply chain at the worst possible moment of the planting season. Analysts are already calling this the worst trade failure of Trump’s year — a pressure tactic that ended up crushing the very people it claimed to defend.
Trump's counter-blockade gambit coupled with his threat to “Venezuelaize” Iran, reveals that the real obstacle in these negotiations isn’t that Iran and the US have different demands, nor even that Washington still believes it can impose its own terms, and certainly not that Iran "overplayed its hand" — a framing that implies it doesn’t objectively hold the stronger cards. It’s the US’ detachment from reality itself; in other words, its inability to perceive changed material conditions except through the lens of its own hegemonic self-image. That is why the fundamental mismatch here is between two radically different strategic identities rooted in two radically different relationships to reality.
Iran enters these talks with
· A counter-hegemonic, justice-seeking, resistance-informed, sovereign identity
· a strategic framework of “honour/dignity wisdom, and expediency” that informs all aspects of its foreign policy, from military to diplomatic
· a self-understanding grounded in concrete military and political achievements
In contrast, the US enters the talks with
· a hegemonic, primacy-obsessed, peace-aversive, imperial identity
· a strategic doctrine of domination, sovereignty-denial and preservation of imperial hierarchy that permeates its entire foreign policy, from military to diplomatic realms
· a self-perception detached from (and resistant to) concrete military and political realities
Iran thus faces the near-herculean task of forcing reality onto a party fundamentally resistant to recognising it. The US will not internalise altered power relations through dialogue alone, but only through the combined and sustained pressure of war and diplomacy. This is the only means by which Iran can help break the US’ imperial self-delusion and pathological addiction to war, which in turn, will help it to unlearn the hegemonic assumptions that keep it insulated from reality. If Iran succeeds in this, even partially, it will have done more than secure itself; it will have rendered a historic service to humanity as a whole.
Having already responded to the second part of the post, here is a quick legal reminder for the author:
The Strait of Hormuz does not constitute 'international waters.' Rather, it is composed of the territorial seas of Iran and Oman. There is even no 'corridor' of high seas or an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) running through its center, hence, every ship passes through the terrotirial waters of Iran or Oman.
Consequently, under customary international law, the two coastal states have rights over these waters that must be respected.
Having a legal advisor around is not a bad idea!
Jews are poor strategic planners, and even poorer fighters. They have the full might of the western empire behind them, and yet, the Jewish army still cannot win battles against actual armies, especially guerrilla ones, in a fair fight. It can only kill civilians.
- It failed to defeat Hamas, but killed many Gazan civilians.
- It failed to defeat Hezbollah, but killed many Lebanese civilians.
- It failed to defeat the Iranian armed forces, but killed many Iranian civilians.
It can attack civilian infrastructure, but it can't win actual military battles.
They are both incompetent and evil. Killing civilians is all they have left. When they can't win (which is almost always), they take out their frustration on children and unarmed innocents, and then proclaim victory.
The US didn’t agree to a ceasefire but acquiesced to a new balance of power. By insisting on ending the war rather than settling for a temporary ceasefire, Iran moved beyond merely restoring deterrence, whether as denial or as punishment. It exercised deterrence as compellence, forcing the US to change its behaviour and to negotiate under Iranian terms of reference, with the US in an unfamiliar role as the subject of demands rather than their issuer.
Iran went far beyond what ceasefires and classical deterrence typically achieve, which is simply a return to the status quo ante. Instead, the confrontation produced a new strategic reality whereby Iran was able to redraw the political map of the region in which Iran has emerged not just intact but as the most formidable counter-hegemonic force shaping the new regional order.
