My dad defied the doctors & stuck around long enough to meet & get to know his granddaughter which I am so grateful for.
They became great pals & had many lovely times together.
This poem, which means a lot to me, was published in the recent issue of Flare.
Thanks for reading.
On the flip side, I was told that I made the poetry shortlist of the 4th anniversary contest of @darkwinterlit I'm grateful to the contest judge, Hollay Ghadery, for selecting my poem. Congratulations to the other shortlisted writers.

Please read this short story by @trent_lewin. I can't imagine anyone else pulling off a gut punch like this without Trent's optimistic worldview and deep caring for the reader.
But make no mistake, this one is gonna *hurt.*
