Peri would sit up, still sitting in Pipers lap with the blanket on her. She then made grabby hands toward the soup.
β Could you please hand me the soup ? What kind of soup is it ? Is it good ? β
Well at least her curiosity was still there.
"It definitely could help settle your stomach a little. No rush to eat it all. I can always reheat it later after you rest a bit.
Soup, and rest are some of the best things when you're sick."
Oh man. Her mind is still reeling a little. Being called mama? A new feeling indeed.
Peri would let out a small and soft yawn once more as she looked over at the soup.
β maybe I should have some of the soup now. . Will it help me with this problem ? β
Piper was more than willing to allow Peri to rest with her. Giving a little hum and holding the smol close.
All movement ceased when she said Mama, though. A long pause.
She'd gloss over it for now. "I'm always here for you.."
Peri would softly smile, her little hand gently resting right on Pipers. She seemed to be getting a little tired laying there.
β Youβre the best. . . Thanks mama. β
That last bit seemed to accidentally slip out but she was too sick to catch herself.
"Yes it's good for you." She stated simply.
"But I'll be here even if you do end up with another stomach ache. I am always willing to keep an eye on you."
β Soup is good for me ? β
Periβs soft green eyes would look right into Pipers eyes as she asked. She then gave a quick nod.
β Okay, I promise not to eat anything I find. . I donβt want my tummy to hurt again. β
A soft laugh as she pulls a blanket over Peri. Getting comfortable.
"Well I can for sure say the soup is fine. No rocks, I promise." She joked lightly. "Just.. maybe don't eat random things you find."
Peri would nod as she listened, she then just snuggled right into Piper. She seemed to relax just a bit but was still in a bit of pain.
β I-I wonβt ever swallow r-rocks ever again. . I donβt think I will eat anything unless I ask an adult first. . β
She pet Peri's hair gently.
"I know. But at least you learned something from it. Sometimes... learning can be a bit painful... But as long as you don't take the lesson for granted, I think it's worth it.
So uh.. no more swallowing rocks-"
As soon as Piper was back and sat down Peri immediately crawled right into her lap, once again curling up into a tight ball with a small whine.
β Piper, my tummy really hurts. . I donβt feel so good. . β
Once she'd made some soup, Piper sat down next to Peri and set the bowl on the counter nearby, pulling the table closer before patting the small girl's head gently.
"It's okay. I think I just worry about everything. You're just included in my version of 'everything'."
Peri would peek her little head over the book and softly smiled at Piper.
β Oh. . Well sorry if I made you worry ! β
She then closed the book and curled up into a little ball, mostly cause her tummy hurt.
A soft little chuckle escaped her.
"Oh don't you worry about that, dear. You've got no need to apologize; I'm not upset... I'm just worried about you."
Piper gently scooped the child and laid her down on a comfy spot.
Handing over a book on sharks she had on hand. "Here sweetheart. I'll go make something for you. Just relax. It'll go away eventually."
