It’s my birthday again! Grateful to God for the gift of 42 years and for His countless blessings. This year, rather than putting up a post on my reflections or sojourn so far, I thought I’d share 42 truths about me from close friends and family over the years. You might just learn a thing or two about me:
1. He is sold out to God. His beliefs and values reflect his faith.
2. He is an outstanding leader. A mentor. A role model and a family man.
3. He is not a perfect man, but a great man indeed.
4. He delights in the ways of the Lord.
5. He never goes a single day without praying and meditating on scripture.
6. He is quick to admit his flaws and shortcomings.
7. He is all about lifting others.
8. He is fearless. While he regards all men, he has a fearlessness that dares the scariest things.
9. He is loyal. He is not the type to forget those he loves and those who have stood by him in the days of nothing and little.
10. He is humble. Highly accomplished yet very meek; he never overestimates himself and doesn’t throw his weight around the room.
11. He loves young Nigerians so passionately to the point that he has invested the last 5 years (at least) mentoring thousands of youths across borders.
12. He is a hard working; reliable and dependable. Burning the candles late into the midnight and going the extra mile to get things done.
13. He is an excellent-minded man and is committed to delivering excellence in everything he does.
14. He never compromises; stays true to his values and ideals regardless of the personal cost.
15. He hates excuses and never takes it for an answer.
16. He loves Nigeria so much and thinks highly of the nation’s potential.
17. He is a sacrificial giver; always going over and beyond for others
18. He values honesty and transparency.
19. He believes in the dignity of labour and diligence as fundamentals of a successful life.
20. He believes in simplicity and authenticity.
Yes. Fawaz now works with a prestigious fashion brand, Ayomide is completing his degree at Miva university, Jamiu won the United Nations games in New York and will be returning this summer for an internship with @icnnyc
This is my life’s work and promise to every child I meet.
