Last Friday, LVMPD’s Black Community Alliance joined community members at the Juneteenth Celebration at the Pearson Community Center to honor a day of reflection, recognition, and unity.
We were proud to take part in an event that brought neighbors together through food, music, activities, and community engagement. Opportunities like these help strengthen relationships and foster meaningful conversations.
Today, Juneteenth serves as a celebration of freedom, resilience, culture, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. LVMPD remains committed to fostering trust, understanding, and partnership with all members of our community as we work together toward a safer future for everyone.

This morning, Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick joined LVMPD in the destruction of two vehicles used in illegal stunt driving, sending a clear message that dangerous driving behaviors will not be tolerated.
In October 2025, Clark County supported Nevada's AB417, legislation that provides law enforcement with additional tools to combat street racing, trick driving, and other reckless driving offenses. The law strengthens vehicle inspection and registration requirements for offenders, helping keep unsafe vehicles and repeat violators off our roads.
Since launching in February 2026, LVMPD's Hybrid RAID/VIPER Squad has focused on identifying repeat offenders, building strong criminal cases, and holding dangerous drivers accountable.
To date, the team has:
▪️ Arrested 24 suspects for felony evasion-related offenses
▪️ Linked investigations to 36 incidents involving drivers fleeing from law enforcement
▪️ Identified 14 stolen vehicle-related charges
▪️ Made 47 arrests for reckless and trick driving
Through proactive investigations and targeted enforcement, LVMPD continues to improve safety on roads across the Valley.
