@daviee_254@MwendiaJnr I dont think it is a non-Murima issue. Years of political apathy meant Ruto and the hustler narrative gave many people hope that change was possible. He presented himself as an alternative to the old way. That raised expectations, so the disappointment was greater.
@_KemuntoM Fair enough. Lie” is a strong word, though. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. That said, witnesses can exaggerate and governments can cover things up. I’d call it unproven, not a lie.
@_KemuntoM The left is unrealistic, the right is chaotic. An interchange doesn’t need to be a giant park. Road space should move people, wide tree-lined walkways, cycling infrastructure and bus lanes. Put parks in dedicated and accessible spaces, and businesses in organised stalls.
@Weyne_west This is where cycling could fill the gap: too far to walk, too expensive by matatu. We just need safe cycling infrastructure to make it practical.
@HassanMcOjwang It is a sad state of affairs to see what our country is becoming. Leaders creating the desperation they thrive on, while citizens are reduced to scrambling for handouts. I yearn for a Kenya where citizens unite and hold our leaders to a much higher standard. Politics of merit.
@EugeneAbilla @MrJamesKe As it should be. We should never lower our standards or play favourites, especially with politicians. A wrong is a wrong and should be called out. If we only speak up when it suits our political loyalties, then we have no principles, just teams.
@sholard_mancity Local vehicle manufacturing makes sense, but restricting imports must come with better alternatives: reliable public transit, BRT, buses, safe bike lanes and walking infrastructure. Make cars locally, but also make car ownership less necessary.
@citizentvkenya Two years too late. Not only did he have no regard for the lives lost, he now uses their deaths as a stage for political redemption. Shame.
@_KemuntoM A senator’s job is legislation, oversight and representation. Let’s stop treating small handouts like water tanks and boda boda shades as proof of performance and start judging leaders by how well they do the actual job they were elected to do.
@_KasKazini That last paragraph ruined an otherwise reasonable argument. I don’t live in Homa Bay, so I can’t speak to the reality there. But the “our people” framing and especially “we will sing TUTAM” make it sound partisan and dishonest, especially given your prior opposition.
@thearnabsarkar@therabbithole Right to life is more like you have a right not to be killed. Thus it is upon the killer to respect that right, and not upon the police to protect it. The police are only there because there are some people who don’t respect this right.
@Adele_lide@Kenyans Isnt this whole Mt Kenya, Rift Valley, Nyanza politics that has gotten us into this mess time and time again? Kenya has no hopes until we forget regional based politics and focus on merit based politics.
@miloshevm@fightkarnivore Not really equal fight though, she didnt touch the dude, just kicked his bag. It is disrespectful and probably property damage, but not assault.
@TruByte @ennui365 There can be two issues at once, mental illness and ease of access to guns. Yes, we should prioritise mental health care as a long term solution, but gun control is a solution that is effective in the short term.
@Goddie_Ke Hizi donations, kama lazima apeane si anunue medical equipment na adonate KNH, ama arepair barabara moja hii Nairobi. Even better, atumie kulipa loans.
