ADHD public service announcement:
It’s okay if ADHD hasn’t been your “superpower”.
It doesn’t have to be.
You’re still a worthy, valid and whole person, even if your ADHD symptoms are literally ruining your life right now.
A few little things makes my life easier as an ADHDer like having containers, shelves, electric toothbrush, apps, asking for help, easy to prep comfort dishes, not overstretching myself and automating things where I can because overwhelm and demotivation can be a hindrance
“ADHD has a PR problem: most people have heard of it, but most people don’t actually know what it is. The confusion starts with its name. ADHD is a terrible name.”
Y’all need black women to be captive and saddled with responsibility for the community because those social ties and involvement, and care serve as a barrier to their consciousness. And that’s why “hyper independent” has become a deployment of misogynoir
“Those of us with ADHD don’t actually have a deficit of attention. It’s the opposite—we have an abundance of it! We’re often paying attention to everything all at once; so much so that we can lose track of what’s important.”
