@jeffplatt@LinusCaldwell5@WSOP I appreciate all your efforts this summer, and I’m sympathetic to how much people are putting on you, regardless of it being anything you have control of or influence over.
You’re a blessing to the industry and community. Keep it up 🤙🏻
I’m not really one to complain, but the @WSOP final table viewing/streaming experience is a real disappointment, especially after such high expectations being set by the quality and magnitude of the production set.
The excessive delay on the live stream combined with the lack of live updates, means that the only way to keep track of a friend/horse at a final table is to be there live…. Where there is no practical seating, no one announcing all-in confrontations, and only a small screen display to see hands in play -without knowing who has what.
I went to sweat a friend at the 25k final table, and was so bored and unable to see stacks or what was happening during hands, that I left almost immediately.
I know this is essentially year 1 of a new era, and the return to ESPN is no doubt a thrilled update, but I know I’m not the only one who really hopes the live viewing/streaming experience is thoroughly re-evaluated.
@jeffplatt@LinusCaldwell5@WSOP I saw someone (David Lappin, iirc) post about how red is the hardest color on the eyes or something, and it definitely doesn’t feel aesthetically relaxing, esp compared to Tritons etc.
Also, a very clear and easy fix is to have the stack sizes listed at the top of the screen.
@coachpete327@jeffplatt@WSOP Adjusting for payjumps will always be a part of tournament strategy. There’s nothing wrong with it, and it doesn’t need to be fixed.
@anderscutt@WSOP I hope it isn’t taken the wrong way, I am rooting for the success of both WSOP and GG. I want poker to thrive.
I just think there are some things here that, barring complicated explanations I may not be privy to, can easily be improved. In most cases, at no financial cost.
I understand this isn’t the final iteration, so I’m open minded to the idea that improvements will be made. Still, at the very least, no seating area (aside from the strange elevated corner platforms), the insanely long delay on stream, and no live updates, seem like trivially simple things to have solved from the jump.
I, and hopefully others, remain hopeful.
@WSOP@WSOPTD@jeffplatt idk who needs to hear this, but the overhead lights from the feature table area need to be angled downward slightly more.
When they pan outward, they’re beaming directly into the eyes of people in the tournament area.
Thought I would share one of the best products/hacks I’ve discovered for live poker, especially during @WSOP when germs are rampant and people always get sick.
I found this Japanese hand sanitizer a few years ago and I’ve been carrying it with me pretty much 24/7 since then. Comes in a variety of great aromas, easy to carry and doesn’t leave sticky/oily residue like a lot of sanitizers do. 10/10 product, IMO.
