Moth trappers have been active. Thanks to the efforts of @dartangler, @RichardFoxBC, @Chris_Vincent2, Karen Debbie May and Mike Passman, 98 species, including 6 species of hawkmoth and 11 new species for the reserve, were trapped at the seaward end of SML on 1st June 2024.

Yesterday’s discovery of a stunning male Golden Oriole at the seaward end of South Milton Ley brings the confirmed bird species list for the reserve up to 216. Not bad for a small 16 ha reedbed! Image: @birds_sophie
