@wbuxtonofficial For 1982, as I recall Paul Page has said he pulled monitors aside to make sure to watch through finish out the window. From the video I couldn’t tell if you did that or if you trusted (correctly) in today’s excellent video feeds?
@IndyCarChick@IMS@javahouse Also, neither the coffee shop at the snack bar near the museum nor the truck that was in pagoda plaza were there. Apparently IMS is a good coffee-free zone?
@indy44 Sprinkling just turned back to light rain.
With the new surface it’s a bit quicker to dry, but still 3.5 hrs without sun and titans?
Qualifying has been done in a bit over 2.5 hours twice recently
So if it stops right now, they finish at 8:15, cutoff time for 2024 race
@AlanSabatino@wbuxtonofficial They won’t try unless there’s a window for everyone to run and everything will be tomorrow. If they start but cant finish, times will be wiped
@500Indy1911 This year I’ve only been there Tuesday and today, but I don’t see it as being any worse than it has been previously. There have been people with binders and carts before.
At 2000 USGP, first at Indy, a car stopped on the front straight. (As I recall Button). Also as I recall, Bob Varsha said how odd to leave a car parked on straight at Indy, with local yellow for a few laps to warn, “don’t go there”, then green. But that’s F1 tradition not IndyCar
@MarcoAndretti I have some diecasts of your cars that I’ve always been reluctant to lug around with me at the track. Any chance you’ll be at any events over qualifying weekend that might be easier to bring them to?
@YouTubeTV I have all IndyCar events, and 100 Days to Indy, set to record in my library. @FS1 is showing one right now, but you have it in the guide under the name of the episode, not the series. I’ve seen this one, but it would be nice for all of them to be labeled as the series
I’m a longtime Paddock holder for #Indy500. Love new screens. But during cautions, running order’s replaced with logo. I get intervals aren’t important, but since we can’t see the top of the pylon, we don’t know the lap. Can we get the lap added to the display?@jdouglas4@IMS
@wbuxtonofficial I’m an IndyCar fan first, but also have followed F1 for many years. But one thing I’ve never understood is why the preferred pit in F1 is at pit in? Is it tradition, or is there a strategy reason given safety car rules, etc.?
#Indy500 Lot 2 parking was much better this year! Cord entrance was great! Departure also seemed a bit smoother—usually no hope of moving at all until 2 hrs after checkers, but it was creeping after 75 minutes. Thanks @IMS@jdouglas4
@RyanDyer99@Eric_INDYCAR At the time, I recall some trend analysis that said that race day each year had been on average hotter than the August date forvthdd we previous many years
@champwebdotnet@Calhoun98 I love the tradition, but it’s not the case any more that the car qualifies. Herta started from his spot in 2022 despite going to the backup after his Carb Day crash.
