In the described scenario, disabling the incremental password verification delay does not noticeably accelerate potential brute-force attacks.

The core security mechanisms in the wallet still ensure that even a four-character password would take several weeks to crack. It would take many years if a local keyboard layout were used in addition to that.

But more importantly, the chip would not survive all of this. The proposed exploit of the chip’s anti-tearing mechanisms would damage the embedded flash memory, which has a limited operational lifespan, rendering such an attack impractical.

Contrary to claims by the Donjon team, a “PIN code” containing only digits is not mentioned anywhere in the Tangem app. Tangem is a seedless hardware wallet, not a bank card.
