Nate Schwegman, a 25-year-old from Southern California, received devastating news after seeking medical help for persistent coughing and severe back pain. Doctors discovered that he had stage 4 cancer. His lungs were filled with metastasized tumors, and the disease had already spread into his lower sacrum and bone marrow.
The prognosis was grim. With treatment, doctors estimated only a 3% chance of survival. Without treatment, they told him he might have six months to a year to live.
Instead of surrendering to fear, Nate chose to turn his heart toward God. He began immersing himself in Scripture, reading and declaring Bible verses about healing, faith, and God’s power. Even during the most painful nights, when sleep was impossible, he would wake up in the early hours to pray and worship.
According to Nate, one night during intense pain he felt something unusual happen. He described a strong warmth moving through his body, concentrating in the areas where the cancer had been detected. The experience left him overwhelmed with peace and hope.
The next morning, he noticed something remarkable: the pain that had been constant in his body was gone.
At his next medical scan, doctors reportedly found no trace of cancer in his body. Nate also shared that physicians noticed new bone growth in the area where the cancer had previously damaged his sacrum.
For Nate, this moment became more than a medical update. He believes it was a testimony of faith, reminding many people of the words in Jeremiah 30:17 — “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, declares the Lord.”
Today, his story continues to inspire others to seek hope, prayer, and faith even in life’s darkest diagnoses.
