NIT Silchar Suicide Case: Dr. NV Deshpande (Ex-Director) who in a WhatsApp group wrote that Koj Buker’s suicide was because of the Authorities - was SHUN DOWN.

This is where the idea of free speech vanishes. When it’s in the Education System, where else it won’t be in?

Assam: Situation inside NIT Silchar took a violent turn.

👉 Students express anger against Authorities after a student claimed his life;

👉 Anger turned into violence; Dean’s home, vehicles vandalised; Bottles thrown at DC, Police - one hit the nose of the SP;

👉 Students have now placed their opinions to the Authorities; until fulfilled, they would be avoiding their classes, they say;

Assam: Outrageous situation inside the campus of NIT Silchar,

👉 A student took an extreme step & was found dead inside a hostel room

👉 Took step allegedly due to exam pressure & need to clear backlog paper

👉 Students protested against the Administration. Police, CRPF, and DC were on the campus.

👉 Police lathi-charged at the students.

Assam: Protests in NIT Silchar continue, only growing bigger.

👉 Multiple other colleges, universities, incl. Cotton University, CIT show unity & light candles for Koj Bucker’s soul.

👉 Protest, hunger strike continues. Students are in discussion with NIT’s Director to find a better resolution.
