I visited the Broadview ICE processing center in December, and what I saw was insufficient sanitary services, no medical or mental health services and a system designed to wear people down. Since then, there have been many reports documenting these abuses, and conditions that have led to 18 deaths in custody according to ICE's own data.

This is a system that is inherently dehumanizing.
