OUR ADOPTION OF THE DIALECT YORUBA AS LINGUA FRANCA IN ILORIN EMIRATE

Our choice of Yoruba as the Lingua Franca was an adoption agreed upon based on insight, prudence and sagacity. When the Emirate became established around 1823, the non-Muslim population was majorly Yoruba heathens (pagans), and there was an urgent and tenacious need of conduct of Da’wah to revert them to Islam. In order to overcome the issue of language barrier, Yoruba language was adopted for easier communication for the Da'awah purposes.

This also helped and made it easier for most of our Alfas of non-Yoruba origin, who later engaged in Da'awah activities down the south west region.

Indeed, there was great wisdom on that adoption by our ancestors and it really yielded positive results.

That Yoruba is not pure as its evolution was ethno-genetically affected as Arabic, Hausa, Nupe and Fulani words were fundamentally amalgamated into that language. So, regional, cultural and social impacts gave birth to Ilorin as a language.

Our adoption of Yoruba language then was not a wrong choice but rather a necessary and sacrificial tool to cement our Islamic integration and unity.

ILORIN is an exemplary of an Ideal Islamic community, where ethnic affiliation is subdued for Islamic integration.

Yorubas of the south west hate us for that and want to destroy that and unfortunately the Muslims among them are so gullible and allow themselves to be used by their insincere non-Muslim blood relatives, who don't assist them until they become like them.

The largest land invasion in history is operation Barbarossa. Three million German soldiers invaded the Soviet Union. Within 9 months, 4 million Soviet soldiers were either killed or captured.

What saved the USSR was that Germany did not know when to stop and the vastness of the USSR made the supply lines of the German troops become thin and unsustainable. This allowed Soviet troops to reorganise and counter attack.

It was the failure of Operation Barbarossa that destroyed the Nazi army because their best generals and army divisions perished in this campaign.

Fact is Hitler & his Wehrmacht high command simply expected a blitzkrieg. They didn’t envisage a long term campaign against the Soviet. They were ultimately overpowered & defeated by the resilience & brilliant counterattacks of the Soviet who are used to attritional warfare. 4/5

Iru Ekun is a legal entity whose operations does not go against extant laws of the land.
