An earthquake of this magnitude in a country where infrastructure has not been modernized for decades and under an inept, corrupt dictatorship. the '67 historic earthquake in Caracas was 6.8... Please pray for Venezuelans
New York Times piece condemning Maria Corina Machado for not meeting with a US envoy last January for an in-person meeting makes a glaring omission: MCM was in hiding at the time. She couldn't even see her own daughter, let alone a foreign official closely tracked by Maduro.
If you’re asking “what’s really happening in Venezuela?” - this is for you. A clear explanation of Maduro’s capture, why Venezuelans are celebrating, what is currently happening, and what is ahead. Read, understand, and share.

Respectfully, this framing is off. Venezuela isn’t a culture-war proxy. Abortion law, religion, and LGBT debates have zero relevance to the core fact that Nicolás Maduro stole an election and runs a criminal state sustained by repression, narcotrafficking, and stolen oil. His survival directly affects Americans: drug routes expand, migration pressure grows at the U.S. border, sanctioned oil fuels opaque markets, and hostile actors like Iran and Russia gain a foothold in the hemisphere. María Corina Machado isn’t asking for invasion or regime change. She represents a unified democratic opposition asking the world to recognize a stolen vote. Calling that “foreign intervention” doesn’t prevent past mistakes; it shields a dictator whose power creates real costs for U.S. citizens.
Washington said: “If we are wise, let us prepare for the worse”. The late Venezuelan president Herrara Campings put it even better when Chavez won in 1999: “A comprá alpargatas que lo que viene es joropo”, which can’t be properly translated, but it is so relevant to Americans.
.@Delta lost my grandma in the Houston airport. Her wheelchair handler left her alone and forgotten, even after the flight changed gates and NO ONE PICKED HER UP. You literally left her stranded ! A 83yo non-English speaking ! Unacceptable
