@changelingchil1@alexanderswift@Craig_Foster@FrancisAwartefe Ewwww no one cares for your silly diagrams, except for insufferable dolts on the far left. Even real white supremacists find ways to morally justify their racism. If you want to end racism you can't have different rules for whites and blacks and expect everyone to play along.
@BrionyKidd The problems with the article is that it isn’t balanced. She presents “stealthing” as an act that men do to women. What about women who lie about being on birth control?
Is that rape? It would seem there are two standards of justice.
@BrionyKidd Which legal experts? Every country has its own take. There’s no consensus on whether it is even crime, let alone rape. Why hide behind “legal experts”, can’t you defend your own arguments?
@BrionyKidd There are different words used to describe the different degrees of impact. Its a bit like pushing someone and being charged with grevious bodily harm. New laws don't apply retrospectively, its wrong to burden this man with the heinous label of a ‘rapist’. Words have impact too.
@GingerGorman wording of ‘rape’. If you didn’t have people whispering in your ear “you were raped”, this likely wouldn’t have been a very traumatic event in your life. Unlike a true rape victim.
@GingerGorman I don’t think it was rape. There are women who are forcibly penetrated without consent and carry those emotional and sometimes physical scars forever. What happened to you, although wrong and I’d argue is a type of sexual misdemeanour, doesn’t merit the emotionally charged..
@AngelComrade@BlairWilliams26 If govt increased jobseeker above the “poverty line” to $1000+ per week the unemployment rate wouldn’t be 5%, it would be 50%. Eventually the economy would collapse and we’d all get to enjoy the perks of poverty. Nowhere in the world has minimum income worked or lasted.
@docbaty@BlairWilliams26 Lazy bludgers like Jed and many others are “vulnerable” by choice. He could work but he’d rather sit at his computer ranting about jobseeker rates and wallowing in self pity, blaming the world for his problems.
@JayMG2205@Kon__K Doesnt owe him a smile? How petulant! If she was that displeased with him she shouldn’t have attended his residence rather than putting on that pathetic sulky show for the cameras. In the end she will he remembered as a Labor hack rather than any kid of trailblazer.
@CheekyGran70@Kon__K No one cares when men are the victims of violence. From the feminist perspective men cant be both perpetrators and victims of violence, it interferes with the “man = bad, woman = victim” narrative.
@spottedpelican@TrishDoyleMP Exactly. Other evidence. Rape can be successfully prosecuted without witnesses. Text messages, photos of the crime scene, etc, can all be used to exonerate or condemn the accused.
@spottedpelican@TrishDoyleMP Still, presumption of innocence applies. Not sure you can speculate on his motives either. ABC won't settle because of public interest. Would be a strange move to potentially incriminate himself by pursuing this path
.
@spottedpelican@TrishDoyleMP Yes it is the way it is, and although it may not be perfect it is better than a system that reduces guilt and innocence to genitalia. That is a very dangerous system and will open up a massive can of worms if ever implemented.
@spottedpelican@TrishDoyleMP Unfortunately the arbitrary hunches of police officers is not admissible in court. If police feel certain that a crime occurred they should lay charges and let a jury decide. Also, there was no witness in the case of Jarryd Hayne being found guilty.
@spottedpelican@TrishDoyleMP Yes it's true rape is difficult to prosecute and rapists probably do often get away with it. However a lack of a witness does not mean that rape occurred. It is still 'he said/she said', and in the vast majority of cases only the accuser and accused truly know what happened.
