The long-standing speculation regarding Kieran Trippier’s final chapter at Newcastle United has finally reached a conclusion. The veteran full-back is now cleared to make a final appearance at St James' Park against West Ham this Sunday, with the club no longer restricted by looming contract clauses.

​For weeks, rumours suggested that Trippier was being held out of the starting lineup to prevent him from hitting a specific appearance milestone that would trigger a substantial financial bonus.

​However, following his brief cameo off the bench in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, the numbers have shifted. It is now mathematically impossible for Trippier to reach the required number of starts to activate the clause. This leaves him fully available for the final matches against West Ham and Fulham without any financial penalty for us.

​Eddie Howe has been quick to shut down any talk of "accounting-based" team selections. When asked if financial triggers dictated his lineup, his response was blunt:

​"Absolutely not. I make football decisions."

Eddie clarified that his recent selections have focused on building for the future, stating he is prioritising players who will be part of the project next season, especially now that "Kieran’s future has been revealed."

​Whether he leads the team out from the tunnel or is introduced for a final ovation from the bench, one thing is certain: St James' Park will be loud. The man who set the standard for the "new" Newcastle deserves nothing less than a hero's farewell this weekend.

This is the worst game I have seen in ages, where a team/club (Southampton) have been so unsporting, from spying, to dirogitory language by the captain, the ball boy & Saint's subs, then someone throwing a second ball on to kill time in extra time. Not Wanted in the Prem league!

@DVLAgovuk I have just discovered I have over paid tax on a car which I handed back to the finance company, last year. I handed it back in March 2025, but paid tax up to June 2025, & only had 1 month refunded, what do I do to get the rest refunded?

Some the worst officiating I have seen in ages, 1st a linesman who can't spot a clear offside, then a dirty high tackle, an easy🟥, but no a 🟨. A penalty given as a free kick, when the player was well inside the box.
Is the Ref a local lad?
Maybe a bet on somewhere?

@SkyNews This article states they haven't played in the U.S. since February 2014, but that is definitely wrong. My wife & I saw them live at The Forum in L.A. in July 2019, as we went for our wedding anniversary, & they were Fantastic.
