if one takes explanation seriously enough philosophically, contingency turns to dust
so what to do?
focus on the dust
Ya it’s really surprising that crypto imported a bunch of former citadel and goldman people and now everything is a version of payment for order flow. I really though all of those guys would understand the value of p2p transaction
so now do we go back and platform all of the heterodox and critical econ folks who have been saying and writing this since the 90s?
or do we get new cohorts of elite economists at princeton and chicago rewriting their work and winning nobels over the next two decades? 🤔
When I started reading fiction I liked reading books by “white people” because they were more likely to be dealing with loneliness and depression and existential issues, like me, instead of racism, poverty, etc.
Two thoughts on this article: (https://t.co/JIT3nIywuw)
“Volatility shield” is just a pathetic attempt to make the accurate “volatility laundering” into a positive. It’s Orwellian. It should be ridiculed. I’m ridiculing it.
In the highlighted part below I think critics get it at least somewhat backwards. The illiquidity return premium is likely now a discount as illiquidity is now a feature not a bug (the “volatility shield” is valued by the large Ostrich community and you pay for value through higher prices and lower yields/returns). Thus making it more liquid/transparent would raise yield not lower it as you get more yield/return for bearing a bug (in this case the bug is honest marks). See: https://t.co/m8x8TF8wAr
After a decade of poster/influencer life and witnessing the hater species in excess, I have accumulated a list of hater archetypes from my studies.
I present: The Haterpedia .・゜ ✧
Feel free to reference whenever needed on your travels.
The Fussy - Complaining, miserable tone suggesting they’ve been personally victimized by you or your work. Feels like a fussy customer at a store, or a toddler having a tantrum. Unnecessary and unpleasant for all to witness.
"The Critic" - Similar to the fussy but more high-effort, lengthy takes with a self-flattering label. Believes they are being a “critic” but are clearly masking personal contempt with verbiage. When you don’t accept their input, they accuse you of “not being able to take criticism”.
The Moralizer - Similar to the critic, but with a strong moralizing tone. Attached to the idea that your work or presence is harmful to society, and believe that by attacking you, they are a hero saving society.
The Cop - Similar to the moralizer, but with a more cop-like style. Wants to "catch you" doing something wrong and have you reprimanded. Attached to their personal rules and opinions as if they are laws of the land.
The Diagnoser - Believes they can diagnose an illness, personality disorder, or the inner workings of someone’s psyche from the distant screen. Wants to be taken seriously, yet their tactic is innately unserious and often in the language of recent online self-diagnosis trends we've all already seen.
The Surveiller - Keeps tabs on you as if building a case. Happily announces details of your life and past they’ve logged as if angrily keeping tabs on a stranger isn’t creepy and worrisome.
The Liar - Close cousin to the surveiller, but their narratives are completely made up. Would have had great success as a tabloid magazine writer in the 2000s, but seem to enjoy doing it for free. This species also includes those who present personal assumptions as fact.
The Roaster - Makes memes or jokes about you or the content in a playful, fun way. Enjoyable and lighthearted for all, adds to the experience. Best species. May not even belong on this list.
The Striver - Wants to go viral off of or get top comment off the back of someone else. Usually outlandish, dramatic claims to garner attention, conversation, clicks, outrage. You see this in both major media channels and comment sections. This species also includes those who use your work or presence as a way to prop up their own as superior or overlooked.
The Reactor - The successful striver, this person has come into a large audience or income off of reacting to content. They need you to survive, it isn't personal.
The Group Chatter - Talks shit about you in private group chats or amongst friends. Fair, respectable, normal. Their existence makes a case that many other species on this list may simply not have friends to air out their hate with and thus must outsource.
The Playground Bully - Simply calls you or your work stupid, ugly, or fake then moves on, like someone yelling in traffic or blowing off some steam. Low effort and unattached. Feels honest and familiar.
The Poker - Desperately wants a response from you and seems to try all tactics to get your attention. May have tried to get your attention by being kind in the past, and when that didn’t work, switched to negging.
The Endurer - Hating you is part of their life, and they will take any opportunity to place a one-star review or bad word on any project you do. Their word usage is repetitive, recognizable, and curt, almost like a bot, so you can tell it is one same person. Endures for years.
The Schizophrenic - Like the endurer, but fueled by schizophrenia or bad drugs. Believes you are inside their phone, speaking to them directly, or going to kill them. May contact your friends or make pages dedicated to their attachment to you. Although entertaining in its sheer absurdity and volume, it is also terrifying.
The Parasocial Break-Upee - Used to be a fan of you or your work, and believes that their shift in interest is entirely your fault. Shares their disappointment and theories in an emotionally manipulative and accusatory style as if desiring apology. Doesn’t seem to understand that not resonating with something anymore is the fate of all media in an ever-shifting plane, and not a crime or detriment.

Haters are an innate part of the online ecosystem, and most of us have gone in and out of being one ourselves. At best, haters are entertaining, and at worst, they temporarily stop someone on their trajectory or alter their self image. Haters are not to be mistaken for guides, and doing so can be detrimental to your purpose. Beware of the hater within and beyond. May this Haterpedia help you in your earthly and digital travels.
