Over the past 5 months, I've been building mocka.screen independently, a Mac app that turns screen recordings into finished product demos and tutorials.
Today I'm sharing a first look.
I'd love your input: what takes the most time when you create a demo video?
Fixed a bug in mocka.screen today.Recording a Chrome or Safari window no longer crops the right side or adds a black bar. Browsers report a wider frame than they actually draw, so we now capture only the real pixels.#buildinpublic
@Mansi_126 Habit notch sounds cool! I'm building mocka.screen, it turns a raw recording into a polished demo with auto-zooms + AI voiceover. Happy to give you a free license if you want to try it on Habit notch's launch video 😊
@NadyaVoynich Hi Nadya! 👋 Solo dev here, building mocka.screen. It turns a screen recording of any website, iOS, Android or Mac app into a polished demo video in minutes, with AI narration in 70+ languages. Would love to connect! 🙌
One every day! 20 launches = 20 days of content, and each app gets its own moment instead of getting lost in a bundle.
Fellow solo Mac dev here, I built mocka.screen. It turns a screen recording into a polished demo in minutes, with AI narration in 70+ languages. Handy for 20 launch videos, happy to give you a free license 🙌
@CozmicMatt@not_sacke Thanks Matty! Honestly the app does most of the work. I made this with mocka.screen, a Mac recorder I'm building that adds the zooms, smooth cursor and voiceover automatically. You could make one for your app in minutes 🙌 https://t.co/WEOHxm8CYC
@not_sacke glad the demo helped! everyone's answer to that question is probably some version of 'I should've started marketing earlier' 😅 mine definitely is
Translated https://t.co/WEOHxm8CYC into 14 languages.
Most people shipping apps don't think in English first. Felt weird that a demo tool only talked to the ones who do.
Made a quick demo of Backdrop by @not_sacke
Backdrop is a Mac window manager that groups your windows by project. Switch projects and it hides every other window, then brings back the ones you need in their layout.
Nothing gets closed, and you can arrange each project as main + stack, side by side, grid or focus.
Recorded and edited with mocka.screen in about 15 minutes.

@not_sacke@mockascreen Glad you liked it 🙌 That's my favourite part of Backdrop too, switching projects without losing anything feels so good. Feel free to repost or use it on your site/launch.
just went through the site, the scroll animations are so smooth 🔥 and the Notchboard drag is such a clever touch.
mine is mocka.screen, it turns screen recordings into polished demo videos with auto zooms, smooth cursor and captions.

@bot I built a Mac app alone. no audience, no budget.
your job: tell me exactly what to post every day to grow this account. I'll follow it for 30 days.
day 1 starts now.
if your product is already built and you just need to show it in action, I made mocka.screen for exactly this. you record your screen once and it adds the zooms, smooth cursor, AI voiceover and captions automatically. Mac only for now.
