@cayswann @abbysyarns This is what I did for the whole year I lived in Germany. The dorm washing machine token system was too complicated, so I just washed my clothes in the shower and had a small drying rack next to my desk. Even in a tiny space, it's very doable.
@BiologyCarly Also, I'm ashamed I thought of the Barbara Streisand song above before I remembered Chita Rivera! The musical is even called Kiss of the Spider Woman for goodness sake! https://t.co/enpCiPi321
So why struggle when the superior solution is already in your hand? I'm not saying forks are useless or even inferior to spoons. Forks are great for salads and lots of other foods! But for soup-eating, spoons reign supreme.
Use the spoon. (3/3)
Imagine you met someone whose cutlery drawer had only forks, and they'd never encountered soup.
You offer to make delicious soup, and give them a spoon, and show them how to eat the soup with a spoon. (1/3)
They love the soup! And they can totally use the spoon. But instead of just eating soup, they spend a bunch of time arguing that they really could eat this soup with their fork.
And maybe they can get some of the soup into their mouth that way, but it's slow and messy. (2/3)
@koleross In general, European and US toilets use different amounts of water because, again in general, European toilets empty due to water pushing down and US toilets empty due to water sucking out. This also necessitates different size pipes. So yeah...they do sound different.
Mr. Gaiman gets it. Use your libraries! You pay for them with your taxes, so you might as well get as much from them as you can. Don't stop at ebooks...library online resources often include newspapers, elearning courses, streaming movies and music, language apps, and more!

Multiple people have lectured me today about how I choose to do nice things for people I care about, and they think it's too much.
I wonder how they'll feel the day I decide to take their advice and stop doing the nice things I choose to do for them?
I feel like this should go without saying, but...I was very lucky not to need to take out student loans. I've seen how it has financially crippled my peers.
I'm thrilled to see loan debt cancelled and reduced. Nobody should make payments for years and end up owing more.
Just a regular week in the Cincinnati area. Our city has a public health crisis with car violence. When will our politicians get serious about solving these problems?
