Beginning the week of June 8, we will be completing line painting on the trails at Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and visitors can expect rolling trail closures. All affected areas will be fully closed to the public during the week, re-opening Fridays at 5 p.m. and on weekends. We anticipate the project will occur in three phases and take three weeks to complete. We thank you for your patience as we continue to finalize trail work at this newly opened park.

It was an incredible evening at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, held at the Port Credit Arena. Live Country music filled the arena & the hardware was awarded. Hockey royalty Doug Gilmour was in attendance to hand out an award.

What started as an idea to transform Lakeview's waterfront from its industrial past, into a clean green sustainable waterfront, reconnecting people to the water has come to reality. Jim Tovey's idea and work has resulted in a collaboration with a Credit Valley Conservation Authority, TRCA, Region of Peel, Lakeview Village, Government of Canada, members of the community and the City of Mississauga.
It has been an honour to be a part of this incredible journey, ensuring that this initiative was completed the way it was envisioned.
The Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area is accessible via Mary Curtis Park, open to all starting at 10am Saturday

🎉 We’re two days away from the grand opening of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area. Take part in the opening day programming on May 30 including a sunrise ceremony at 6 a.m. Make your way to the Indigenous Teaching Amphitheatre, about a 10-minute walk from the conservation area entrance.

More than a decade in the making, the new 26-hectare Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area has transformed the Mississauga shoreline. This includes bringing a section of Serson Creek back to life. Buried and piped underground in the 1960s, we reconnected the creek back to Lake Ontario supporting fish spawning and nursery habitat.

Effective June 1, 2026, the Paramount Fine Foods Centre will be renamed the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre while the City undertakes work to secure a future naming partner. The City unilaterally terminated the contract with Paramount Fine Foods for lack of payment and is in the process of considering its legal options for remedy.

What this means:

- There is no impact to scheduled programs, bookings, rentals, or events.
- All activities will continue as planned.
- Tickets and materials that reference the former name will still be honoured.

During the transition, you may see both the old and new names across signage, listings and communications as updates are completed.

The City will also manage food services and concessions starting June 1 with a focus on maintaining high-quality and consistent customer experience.
