My coming Saturday bride is wearing one of the most beautiful wedding dresses in my store and I just called the hairstylist to do a good job so it's social media worthy. I can sometimes go overboard. 🙂‍↕️

What's trending for Nigerian brides in 2026?

1. Individuality rather than conformity - More people are now willing to express themselves in their bridal style and in choices for their wedding rather than follow what's in vogue and that's beautiful.

For social media of course! They want something to talk about on their Tiktok and something that photographs beautifully for Instagram. I also think that in 2026, Nigerian brides are increasingly buying into a story, not just a dress, or trends. Every bride is now a storyteller.

5. Warm editorial photography & content creation - Who would've guessed? Fine art studio portraits with soft taupe, ivory, mocha, champagne backdrops are now popular for bridal campaigns and pre-wedding editorials. Brides now have a whole photo session before the wedding, Why?

4. Economy factor- Nigerian brides want multiple looks without buying multiple dresses so convertible dresses are in high demand and instead of heavy crystal coverage, brides are opting for delicate pearl details, floral appliqués, and strategic beading,no over glittery fabrics.

3 Wow effect From wedding gowns, sculpted corsets, dramatic draping and impeccable tailoring are highly sought after. Brides now choose elegance over excessive decoration. Structured sleeves, and offshoulder designs 'cause they allow brides to transform from ceremony to reception

Brides now feel the need to step away from color themselves and only infuse it in other aspects of the event such as train outfits, decor and others . They prefer to keep their aesthetic as clean as possible. 🙂
