A woman in China has spent almost 7 years biting her husband's toes daily to help reverse severe brain damage after he broke his skull while saving a toddler's life.
In October 2019, Zhao Jinqian climbed onto a warehouse roof in Henan, China to rescue a trapped toddler.
He fell holding the child, using his body to break the impact. The child walked away unhurt. Zhao landed head-first and never woke up.
When he briefly regained consciousness during a CT scan, his only words were: "Is the child okay?" Then he was gone again.
His wife Song Mei quit her job that day and never left his side, washing him, massaging him, talking to him daily, selling her own paintings online to support their two children.
Medical staff suggested stimulating his feet. Song discovered a faint response when she gently bit his toes.
She covered his foot in a plastic bag and did it every single day for seven years.
On June 30, 2026, Zhao turned to her and whispered: "Song Mei, I love you."
During writing therapy, the only word he can form is her name.
Nigerians don’t hate thieves. They just hate poor thieves on whom they carry out jungle justice while singing praises to rich thieves.
This dehumanization reminds me of the Aluu 4.
There’s no substantial proof that this guy is guilty.
🇳🇬 💔 I have watched most of videos on the brutality carried out on this guy by his so called friends and i can tell you it’s not about the phone they accused him of stealing.
They planned to k!ll him and they did.
No sane person will beat-up his friend like this and hanged him because they suspected he stole a phone, nah!
They wanted him de@d
I pray his family gets justice for him.
my brother moved back home at 34 after his startup failed and we were all being very careful about it until thanksgiving when my grandpa asked directly across the table "so what happened." my brother said "it didn't work out." my grandpa said "why not." my mom said "dad" and my grandpa said "I'm asking because I want to know, not because I'm judging." my brother looked at him for a second and then talked for eleven minutes straight. really talked. about what went wrong and what he'd missed and what he'd learned and what he wished he'd done. nobody interrupted. my grandpa just ate his food and nodded. when my brother finished my grandpa said "I had a business fail in 1971. cost me everything. I've never told any of you that." my dad said "what?" and my grandpa said "hardware store on clemson avenue. lasted fourteen months." nobody knew. forty-three years nobody knew. my grandpa said "I drove past that building for thirty years and eventually it stopped hurting and started feeling like information." my brother said "information about what" and my grandpa said "about what I actually wanted. which was not that hardware store." my brother is doing something different now. smaller. nothing glamorous. he says it feels like the right size. my grandpa asked about it at easter and my brother talked for eleven minutes again and my grandpa did the same thing. just ate and nodded. some people teach you that failure is just a building you drive past until it tells you something useful.
I do not know about high IQ, but I prefer solitude for the simple fact that I cannot sustain performances inherent to socialization for extended periods of time. There is a mechanical theater to social groups that bows to imaginary hierarchies, which I want no part in.
I refuse to be defined by any other than subjective thoughts and actions. I am convinced that it is this that guarantees my agency; and agency affords me the courage to think and act for myself. When your motivations are extrinsic (such as is with social validation), you will inevitably succumb to mimicry, which will be mirrored in your moral compass and even priorities.
Lastly, critical thinking is a systematic process that demands a careful, amoral consideration of facts. Social biases compromise this process by centering the need to belong over truth in facts. For high IQ personnel (any out there) - I imagine - this systemic mind mapping is the very fuel for their existence as they seek to answer the "why" of life. If they submitted to the whims of social validation, they would, in effect, be committing suicide.
I hope my mom is looking forward to me taking care of her when she's old.
I saw how she took care of my grandma during her last month on earth and I hope she knows I'll be there with her too till she takes her last breath.
All the best to y'all.
