@zomk@ytpintobean@DreamLeaf5 Then she goes into adulthood, is in a job, her boss tells her to do something, and she refuses and does what she wants anyway and guess what...she won't have a job much longer... Better she learns now over some spotty boy, than in the real world.
@zomk@ytpintobean@DreamLeaf5 Then she wouldn't need to lock the door and disrespect them boundaries set by parent. You would accept this, and agree to the terms or not at all. You can't have it both ways. What lesson does it teach if she let it slide? Disobey people's wishes and nothing will happen?
@zomk@DreamLeaf5 If girl asked her bf to come over, and agreed to said terms and her mum did this when the door was open. I agree, one way ticket to trauma. This, is not that situation.
@zomk@DreamLeaf5 In fairness. This is a lesson about respect, boundaries, and integrity. It's the parents house, their rules. If she wanted to get freaky, she would find a way like every other teenager in history without the household disrespect. I don't think this is that big a deal
@zomk@DreamLeaf5 If she just did what she was told...this wouldn't happen. There's consequences to your actions and if you disrespect the people who pay to put the roof over your head, the one you're banging your bf under. This is fair. Heavy handed, sure, but mum asked politely, was refused.
@richardcalhoun@megananne06@Kevin_Maguire It's only now that he is in political exile that she now suddenly wants to escape... Had no issues with it during occupation and benefitting from the corruption.
@richardcalhoun@megananne06@Kevin_Maguire That is also a counter factual. We don't know. We have no idea what was said behind closed doors. Maybe she pushed him a particular direction when he sought he counsel? We don't know. Maybe she was an innocent bystander, but I find that hard to believe given she married him...
@moving_charlie If this was introduced in a market where there wasn't a supply shortage, then this wouldn't be exposed to wider macroeconomic factors. The scheme isn't flawed, it's the existing housing bubble. But then, you could argue the scheme wouldn't exist if not for an increasing bubble
@moving_charlie I don't think the scheme in itself was wrong. It's the market overall. If you insert any scheme good or bad in a bad situation it won't work. When the market is already in a bubble this scheme only works against those whose wages don't rise commensurately with the interest.
