Data Science Retreat turns talented tech professionals into effective data scientists with three months of intensive mentoring in Berlin.Portfolio-project-focus
We have recreated the audio on our two last videos -interview with Jesus Blanco @jmb_jesus of Flixbus:
If you tried watching it before and didn't, try now: https://t.co/EwhqfVidA5

DSR batch 36 demo day Tomorrow Tuesday at 5:30 pm at #SAP. Drop by if you have the chance!
Data Science Retreat presents 8 Machine Learning prototypes and projects by Batch 36 participants.
The event is free to attend thanks to #sap Berlin for hosting us

Today I'm giving this talk at pydata Berlin around 7:30pm, join me if you are curious:
Debugging your reasoning (and code) with LLMs
https://t.co/jyQBOeJSuL
Beyond demo day project presentations, we will have a panel with big people from Flixbus, the chief data scientist of Klarna, etc.
TLDR: DSR demo tomorrow changes format. More time for socializing with peers, panel discussions. Perfect post-lockdown
https://t.co/f2FwKJvEK4
Today 1830 movers and shakers in Berlin get to know each other with ample time to discuss and socialize (unlike the standard tech meetup format)
I would love for you to come. If you are a data scientist, use the VIP button to register. Or you can attend as general audience too
And this is why we are organizing an event to help people meet interesting peers again.
More time for socializing with peers, panel discussions. Perfect post-lockdown

In case anyone is curious, I asked this question to dozens of interesting people from my network. They uniform answer was: none, I didn't do enough social activities to meet people last year. This is sad, and I hope we can get back to the 'tech meetup era', socials were normal
About a year ago I started reading 'useful' books for the things I used to use twitter for ('hot takes'). The quality of my decisions has changed, I feel so much more grounded in facts. It makes sense. Books have to cite sources, provide evidence, solve problems. Tweets don't #ML

today at 6:30PM CET we are running "Should I stay or leave academia? Using empirical evidence to make this decision" If you attend you can access our tool providing accurate stats for your discipline to answer questions like "how many papers do I need?"
https://t.co/gUrteijyQy
If you are an academic and are wondering if you are on the right track, consider attending our workshop: "Should I stay or should I leave academia? Deciding using empirical evidence". We will use actual data to show you where you rank, Today 6:30-8:30p https://t.co/jAUTzrfa3N
Today at 6:30pm CET I'm running a mastermind for PhDs who want to leave academia and want to have somewhat of a map for it. It'd continue as a community of practice if there's enough interest.I don't plan to push it or advertise it so that it grows orglly.

This is what happens with a @dataScienceRet mentor when brought in at the right time. You will never know how long you would have struggled with the problem that just got solved. #ml
Mega congrats to batch 29 on raising the bar for demo days: 1/ Creative ideas 2/ implemented to the point that there's a working live demo, sometimes even a product with matching website! 3/ projects that solve problems people have. The edited videos will be on YT soon #ai#dsr
Tomorrow 6pm we have our next demo day. Projects include:
Q&A engine for health care, Remove reverb from sound, Applying data-science to telecommunication networks, Finding the best place to do a phd in germany,
Conversational agent for language learning.

Great post :

by @Al_Grigor on data team roles. Why?
1. Wonderful storytelling with stick figures
2. states upfront this is his opinion
3. backed by years of practice as senior DS
4. who also runs a community and has written a book
5. A real problem = #win
@mikiobraun's DSR talk Tomorrow https://t.co/l6f14XnhE1
We've seen some pretty awesome advances in machine learning and AI in recent years. Still, building products based on those technologies pose new challenges. How can we scale up the technology? How to organize the teams? #ai
