For ages, we had Hardware, Firmware, and Software.

AI introduced a new category: Slopware.

@samlambert Beauty of closed source, you can take any shortcuts and claim anything.

Every vibe-coder after dropping their 10-million LOC magnum opus:

[Kelly Sommers @kellabyte]

The Campfire ports and benchmarks are invalid. Nothing published is of credibility.

Yes we will be reading code less or none in the future. But that’s not today.

The Campfire ports proved absolutely nothing except one individual got bamboozled by AI’s benchmarks.

[Kelly Sommers @kellabyte]

Rails founders code has perf issues 😂 I halved median response time in 5mins

AI Go & Rust ports fix slow code written by Rails founders

Rails uses Redis over TCP Go/Rust ports use in proc cache

I’ve spent more time in the code than them. I give up. Code & benchmarks are trash

[Jaana Dogan ヤナ ドガン @rakyll]

What worries me about the future of programming is you see this and don’t immediately know there must be something wrong with the results or what you actually measured.

[Kelly Sommers @kellabyte]

Guess what? His benchmark client code is dog shit too.

You can’t trust the ports or the benchmark clients.

What a shit show 😂

Remember folks:

It has to be real ❌
It has be competent ❌
It has to be responsible ❌

All he did was 2025 like naive one shots+making YOU fix it

[JLarky @JLarky]

how it feels to get better at AI coding

[Ben Dicken @BenjDicken]

It's time to stop using slow programming languages.

I don't think you understand the magnitude of this situation.

Let me explain.

[DefaultBlameAcceptor @database_comedy]

@dhh @crertel Dindu nuffin lol

[naren.io @nareni0]

I would fire an engineer for this answer.

“I don’t know why it happened, I didn’t do anything, I only asked my agents to…”

[Kelly Sommers @kellabyte]

“I didn’t do it, AI did” is the biggest cope and laziest excuse of all time.

[Thomas D. Howes @ThomasDHowes]

He did the meme.

[Average Database CEO @AvgDatabaseCEO]

I love this business. You can make what should be fatal mistakes and still get rich.

Neon, barely functioning database. Sold for a billion illiquid databux.

Turso, gave your data to other users. Sold for … (someone tell me please) supabase stock.
