This weekend, I implemented Project Management mode and added support for managing Query File scripts.
With the project-based architecture in place, future feature expansion will be much easier.

Tonight I added a new context menu item to the Table node in the navigation tree: “Query Data in Console.”
A little progress every day.

Spent the past few days working on the Procedure / Function editor and executor.
DataCollie keeps moving forward, one piece at a time.

I reworked the main layout and moved the execution log output from the Query Console tab to the top-level layout.
This makes it easier to capture logs from all kinds of operations, instead of limiting them to a single Query Console.

In 2000, Linus said: “Talk is cheap. Show me the code.”
That line shaped a generation of programmers.
In 2026, Max Xiong says: “Code is cheap. Show me the product.”
The real test is turning code into a product people actually pay for.

Tonight I made some tweaks to the “New MySQL Connection” window.
Really happy with how it looks now.
JavaFX CSS gives me the freedom to shape the UI exactly the way I want.

Spent the weekend rethinking #DataCollie ’s overall layout and polishing some UI details.
A productive weekend with real progress.

Anthropic calling for a global pause on frontier AI is interesting.
My simple read: you got to the table first, now you want to raise the entry barrier?
AI safety matters. But if “safety” means closed-source giants move forward while open-source builders pause, that’s comedy.

Development has entered deep-water territory, and I just can’t stop. I literally can’t stop.
Honestly, I can’t imagine how an old guy would kill time without a hobby like programming.

Lately, I’ve been rushing to add AI Assistant capabilities, but that actually delayed some important core features.
So I think I need to get the basics right first. AI is a bonus, not the foundation.

System prompts alone aren’t reliable enough. LLMs can lose focus and ignore constraints. Reinforce key rules after the user prompt, then validate on the business side.
Don’t adapt your logic to LLM uncertainty. Make the LLM follow your constraints.
Good day today.
My AI Assistant can finally think and speak a little.
Next up: polishing the interaction flow and adding function calls — giving my Agent real hands and feet, so it can actually get work done.

#DataCollie is now connected to an LLM. 🎉
AI-powered features are officially on the way.
Next up: practical AI assistance for SQL development and data analysis. Still rough, but it works.
First step done.
