This is so unfair for all the kids who got eliminated in the "yucca" and the "chitin" rounds in large sweeps, who never really got a chance to compete with fairness. @SpellingBeeofCa Some homework should be done by SBOC to make the randomization more fair. An organized set of word pools of successively increasing difficulty levels should be used. Not like "yucca" and "chitin" in the first rounds, while having "condensation" in the same round.

@SpellingBeeofCa Huge difference in the difficulty levels. In fact, if such a word like "chitin" wasn't spelled by most of the spellers in that round, it should be given to all the previous spellers as well. If nobody of the 13 got it right, then that word shouldn't be counted.

@SpellingBeeofCa Randomization is good, and makes the competition interesting. But it should be done within the framework of the same approximate difficulty level. Not like "chitin" in the first tiebreaker round and "artificial" as the winning word! Doesn't seem fair to the kids.

@SpellingBeeofCa It shouldn't be left just to luck. Words like "corporation" were given for much later rounds. Doesn't feel fair. SBOC should review their process and have different pools for different rounds. Same thing happened with "yucca" in the primary category. #SBOC2021

@SpellingBeeofCa Something is inherently unfair about the way words are chosen as the rounds progress. "Chitin" was given right in the first tiebreaker round, while the winning word was just "artificial". Really? How is that fair? Six or seven little hearts were broken at the same time.

@SpellingBeeofCa The point of the Bee should be to fairly test the spellers with approximately the same level of difficulty. Words like Chitin, which most people would never have heard of, should be kept for the final rounds.
