I’m sharing this because the worst thing that happened to me was never the end of my story. It only felt like it while I was inside it.
If you’re currently receiving rejection emails in your inbox, keep going. Your story isn't over yet. 📌
I’m not sharing this to pretend every rejection magically leads to a fairytale ending.
Some rejections are just painful. Some take months to recover from.
• 2026: Speaking proposal rejected for a major tech conference.
➡️ Outcome: Spoke as a Keynote at the UK's largest data science gathering & named a West Midlands Diversity Champion Finalist.
• 2025: I was fired. 5 months of absolute silence, applications, and waiting. That broke something in me.
➡️ Outcome: Fixed my UK positioning and landed 6 job offers at once.
2022: Moved to the UK. Scholarship rejected. Applied for 100+ UK jobs while in school.
➡️ Outcome: Accepted by 7 UK universities, secured 2 scholarships, and landed my 1st UK data role while still a student.
