Alas, I won't be at #IJF23. Going to miss you lovely people.
Here's my introvert's guide to the festival from last year (AKA how to leave @journalismfest with more energy than you arrived.) 😁
Introverts, contrary to popular belief, are not anti-social. We just find places where there are large groups of people intimidating. We prefer to socialise in small groups.
If this sounds like you, and you're heading to #IJF22 this week, here's my survival guide...
@seekinitiative, in collaboration with @correctiv_org, is looking for an illustrator for a graphic novel that tells an engaging story about how Seek’s ten pathways of investigation can be used in the real world.

gal-dem has been such an important part of my life as a reader, writer and fan. I'm sad to see it go, but it will always be a reminder of what journalism can be. Thank you to all the people who created such an inspiring platform that made countless waves in British media.
When I first learned German, I thought squirrels were called "einhörnchen." This translates more-or-less as "baby unicorns."
It took the best part of a decade until someone politely corrected me.🤦♂️
I thought one of the hardest German words was "Eichhörnchen". Funnily enough, the translation "Squirrel" is equally hard for Germans.
Once I learned "Eichhörnchen", my father-in-law suggested I also try the Bayrisch version, "Oachkatzl".
Bayrisch is German on hard mode.
@mattpointblank Beauties! I learned to confidently ID these through the wedge-shaped tail, broad wings, and the target pattern under the wing. They're often soaring in circles and have slow, heavy wingbeats. Can be noisy too, an almost cat-like mew!
