What to do late on Friday afternoon with #CopilotCowork?

[Dhairya Karekar @dkare1009]

Microsoft is quietly taking over the Enterprise AI Agent stack.

And most people have only seen ~10% of it.

Everyone talks about Copilot.
Some know Azure.
A few use GitHub Copilot.

But underneath...

Microsoft has built a full-stack AI ecosystem
—from models → to agents → to governance.

Here’s the full breakdown 👇

📌 1. Models (the brain)
Azure GPT-5.1, Phi-4, MAI-1, KOSMOS-2, Florence 2, MAI-Voice

This is the intelligence layer powering everything.

📌 2. Frameworks (the builder layer)
Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, Task Weaver, Agent Framework

These are what let you actually build AI agents.

📌 3. Responsible AI (the guardrails)
Azure AI Content Safety, Purview, Defender, Entra

Security + governance baked in from day one.

📌 4. Productivity (the distribution)
Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint

AI is not a feature. It’s embedded in daily workflows.

📌 5. Image & Video (creative layer)
Designer, Clipchamp, Copilot Image

Content creation → fully inside the ecosystem.

📌 6. Coding (developer layer)
GitHub Copilot, VS Code, Azure AI Toolkit

From writing code → to deploying → AI is everywhere.

📌 7. AI Agents
Microsoft Copilot, SharePoint Knowledge Agents, Copilot Studio, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Viva Learning Agent, Edge Copilot, Security Copilot , The autonomous layer that ties the entire ecosystem together

And this is just the outer surface of the Microsoft Core offering.

If we start to dive deeper into Azure AI, the layer goes even deeper.

This just shows Microsoft's commitment on helping enterprises adopt agentic AI.

Not only do they make it very easy with no-code tools like Power Platform,

but also allows you to customize it and build custom agents using their agent frameworks and tools.

Edit with Copilot tool

[Daniel Lemire @lemire]

I am in Microsoft Word. I press Copilot. I ask for a table.

The AI can't modify the Word document so it creates a new document in the cloud. It then allows me access the document through a link. Presumably I am supposed to go there, copy the table and put it in my Word document myself.

Who designed this ?

This is so obviously a low-effort implementation that I am baffled. It is almost as if they wanted to fail.

Why can't Microsoft see that having direct access to Microsoft Word is an incredible edge that they could leverage to embed the AI directly?

It is almost comical.

#CopilotCowork on the go with mobile dispatch via Teams? Yes, that's possible. Setup a scheduled task and ask Cowork to check #MSTeams self-chat. Cowork picks up the chat on the next run and could have any outputs ready for you when you're back at your workstation.

Super excited to bring multi-model intelligence to Researcher in M365 Copilot with Critique and Model Council.🚀

With Critique, multiple models from different model families work together to create a synthesized report improving the quality and trust of every researcher report.

In Model Council, multiple models perform independent deep research on the user's query and a judge provides a cover letter that analyzes where the model responses aligned, where the responses diverged, and gives a high confidence synthesis.

Try it out in Frontier and looking forward to all your feedback-https://t.co/8h5rtit5IZ

Upgrading your RAM is now unnecessary.

Introducing our new ComfyUI Dynamic VRAM optimization. Running local models is now possible on even the most memory constrained hardware.

@SQLGene Apparently v1 was far ahead of it’s time

[David Eldersveld @dataveld]

Not giving up the RTX 5070 Ti for smaller workflows (faster w/ more bandwidth than R9700 + NVFP4 where needed) but couldn't justify 5090 or RTX Pro prices to get more dedicated VRAM

[David Eldersveld @dataveld]

Big step up for me going from dedicated 16GB to 32GB for local AI inference work. Really like the price/performance ratio of the AMD Radeon AI Pro R9700 + better Windows support with ROCm 7.2 this month that helped make this happen.

[David Eldersveld @dataveld]

@SQLGene Apparently 100. I build and forget about agents the way I used to build Power BI reports for testing. Need to declutter!

[David Eldersveld @dataveld]

Found a limit I wasn't aware of for Copilot Studio Lite. Create maximum of 100 agents.
