@brotherdawn04 This scene was so good. I remember the Talks Machina or whatever it was where Liam said if things had been different in C2. Caleb may have ended up back in the fold as a Volstrucker.
Seeing him falter and seemingly consider it in this moment was so tragically genius.
@AcidManticore I think that was the 4th level Gravity Sinkhole Caleb used.
What Essek used had to be Dark Star or Ravenous void, because it stuck around until Trent dispelled it and was pulling stuff from really far away.
8th level or above. Crazy stuff. π
I appreciate that they showcased in this series how powerful Trent and Essek are.
That spell would have been death for basically anyone but an Archmage, and only a high level Wizard could cast it.
Wizards are terrifying, can't wait to see Caleb lvl up.

@SUPERCHAINGUN_ When you feel like a badass because you basically cast Reverse Gravity without a spell slot, but then the Kryn Mage you fucked over shows up for his getback and casts "Literal Fucking Black Hole."
@linzer_art I agree. I think it was more to show he was a big fish in a bigger pond, like whats considered ambitious or counter culture in the Dynasty is so mild when put next to someone like Trent.
I have a feeling hes about to do a double down and really get hands dirty after Ep 6 tho.
So, fellow critters/M9 fans. Am I insane, or does that look like Ludinus, or a half elf variation of Vence, his annex and the one who opened multiple abyssal rifts in C2?
I know Obann is a separate character, but thats a REALLY similar design.

As much as I hate Trent, when he hit Dwendal, the Monarch of the Authoritarian Empire with "you HIRED ME to lie," I was like "yeah, yeah you did bud."
Also they're really doing justice to the whole "Master Manipulator" thing, I hate it.

@hennatheantenna Nothing some spell weaving and form fitting leather tactical armor cant fix.
At least thats what my OC told himself when the weight of his old job weighed on his soul.
"Oh god what have I do-
Damn im kinda jacked in this tho."
@caylebwidogast This! Its worse that he wasnt forced to do it via magic like in the comic or c2.
Not for Caleb, but for Trent. Hes so masterful at his manipulation and abuse, his victims would willingly kill their own parents for the cause.
Its even more relevant given current events irl.
@assiginax @VoiceOfOBrien Yeah. It was an amazing episode but so painful to watch. I got full body chills when Liam did that roar at the end and raised the pillar of fire.
What a beautifully tragic character and amazing adaptation. I can't wait to see more of Caleb's in the show.

@AurumVerax being granted in this series. Example, if you saw the leaked clip of the Volstrucker stealing the beacon from SDCC, they were placing crystal charges and used the tattoos to ignite them and destroy a huge vault door.
Im guessing its a way to put Beau/The Soul on Iki's trail.
@AurumVerax Trent was seizing a Brumestone mine in TLOVM if I remember correctly. Thats why its blue. A very rare and valuable arcane resource alongside residuum.
I believe the crystal in the Pic is residuum and definitely tied to the more offensive capabilities the Volstrucker are (1/2)
@minccinofangirl I tried to scroll back through my replies and stuff and I can't even go past a few years ago, I'll see if I can dig in and see if there's anything else.
Im a big CR fan and very progressive now and I'd never wanna make anyone in the community think I wasn't an ally to them.
@minccinofangirl Yeah but even in my edgy high school days I was never like this so I'm horrified.
Genuinely apologize for any distress or offense this may have caused
