@samtripoli Exactly! Also- did you see how Mexico rallied around their team? The amount of pride and pure patriotism for their team and country was electric. If the US came together like that it would be a direct threat to the establishment.
If the US wants to win at Soccer they have to make it accessible to the unprivileged. We also have to convince young players that this isn't basketball. You can't go 1 on 5 and play hero ball. Soccer is about passing. Every great team in the World Cup that has advance to the final 8 is an incredible passing team.
@jimmy_dore We have some incredible youth players around the country but many cannot continue to evolve their game. Our system limits the competitive pool and until that’s fixed, we will never be able to complete seriously at the international level.
@jimmy_dore The issue starts at our US soccer youth system. Raw talent, potential, and dedication to the game is not enough to join the system. It’s costly in both time and money that majority of American families cannot afford for their kids.
@TPV_John Just watch a clip of the Mex national anthem before the beginning of the Mex V Eng game. It’s pure patriotism and love for their country. Not the BS patriotism our leaders try to feed us. It would be a legit threat to the establishment if we came together like that.
@TPV_John I agree that sports are a massive part of the bread & circus but after watching the pride that Mexicans had for their team & the massive gatherings around the country got me thinking that we’ve got it all wrong. Sports, esp nationally can be a weapon for the people.
@OrangeisGood50@queensofbravo Yes in 2024. A majority of his voters said their #1 reason was because he said no more forever wars and then he started a war by bombing and killing 160 kids. It’s just a fact that he’s lost a good chunk of his base and poll numbers are worse than any president in decades.
@LSUfansRBabies@queensofbravo The US youth system is so ridiculously exclusive. You can have best raw talent and dedication to the game but if you do not have the money or ability to travel, it is nearly impossible to gain entry or be apart of the system. Yes there are other problems with US soccer
@LSUfansRBabies@queensofbravo In 2024… it’s 2026, he will always have a loyal base but that has decreased dramatically and it is now a pathetic minority of the country. The US soccer youth program has always been the biggest detriment to our ability win on the international stage.
I just watched England fucking DIE ON THE FIELD on the ROAD at the TOP OF A MOUNTAIN for their country only to see this team play like SCARED CHILDREN at HOME with a BRIBE ADVANTAGE
