it came from homestuck but its funny because the character is referring to is nowhere near the most suicidal character in the comic. rose mogs him almost automatically.
@back2batk I can see this, a trope that shows up in jrpgs is the the previous world of an earlier entry shows up. Sorta like Pokémon gen 2, or most interestingly DQ3 where the heroes arrive in DQ1’s world (Alefgard) but it’s different/warped somehow
Actually I think passive consumers/larpers are actually the reason why fandom dies out so quickly nowadays. Since they have no firsthand experience, they miss out on personal details and get less out of the media. Treating things only as fandom is going to be “passing interest”
If we gatekept gaming fandoms to only people who purely played it there would be fucking NOTHING
we NEED passive consumers and engagers, and if youre well versed in the series despite not playing the games, YOU ARE A FAN. (Minus gameplay discussion)
@CStickernoodle With kinger mentioning that they have the ability to conjure, I think the ending involves them conjuring a new digital world which is what I believe the “bittersweet” ending is
Like I watched a lot of playthroughs of games when I was younger but having played these games years later through piracy or officially, I ended up liking the game a lot more and can infer through my experiences.
My 2 cents about if watching video games makes you a fan is that it’s like being a fan of a painting but you only read the plaque and never looked at the art. Like yeah, you know the lore, history, and impact but you rob yourself of your own experience (the most fun part)
@rayenbenmalek03@I__HATE_SOCCER I agree watching is accessible than owning but if your franchise consistently gets low entrants at evo, has dogshit retention, cuts development after a year, and reboots itself again. I am going to doubt if people actually like mk or if they like the idea of it
