Many ads have way too complicated hooks.
I've seen brands trying to cram all possible entry points and avatar language in a hook which makes it too complex.
A hook needs to say just the right things and nothing else. All it has to do is catch the attention.
STOP TRYING TO SELL WITH THE HOOK
People blame ad formats way too much than they should.
A format is just a vehicle of your message. It can be ugc, AI, static, whatever. All it does is carry your message.
If your message is shit, no format can save it. So focus on your message more than formats.
There should be a hypothesis behind every ad.
Why this angle?
Why this audience?
What's the intention behind it?
If the answer is just “the hook sounds good”
you're just throwing shit at the wall.
Most ecom brands are completely sleeping on organic.
Just post your ads on Instagram as reels!!
Recently a video I made for a brand for viral on Instagram and it made more sales on organic than it did with paid.
Sleeping on organic is sleeping on free money.
A format is just a vehicle you run the message in. If the core angle is banger the format does not matter. It will perform either way. So the best way is to test the lowest hanging fruit so you can test fast and get data fast. If natives is fast for you to make go for natives, if it's ugc then make ugc, if it's vsl then make vsl etc.
Most ecom brands don't need more creatives.
They need more angles.
If someone didn't care about the message the first time, they're probably not gonna care the 20th time either.
New footage doesn't make a new creative and meta knows that as well.
