NEW YORK HAS JUST VOTED FOR THE VERY MODEL TAWF HAS BEEN FIGHTING TO BUILD IN PAKISTAN FOR YEARS.

New York City Council has voted to phase out horse-drawn carriages by June 2028 — while also planning a transition for the people whose livelihoods depend on them.

That is exactly the thinking behind TAWF’s Second Chance for Working Equines.

We don’t just rescue one donkey and leave another to replace him.

Retire the equine.
Take the animal-drawn cart.
Replace the livelihood.
Monitor the commitment.
Make sure there is NO NEXT DONKEY.

We have already been putting this model into practice in Pakistan — through motorised carts, alternative livelihoods such as small shops, and permanent sanctuary retirement for the animals.

Now imagine what could change if this model was adopted at scale.

Please SHARE this. Help us take this idea beyond one donkey, one family and one rescue at a time. 🫏🐴❤️

We are sad to have to tell you all, that Miss Storky, our beautiful and single minded stork passed away last night.
She came to us in December 2022.
She had been caught and had her flight feathers removed and became a toy for some children.
We bought her for $14. Our intention was to keep her until her feathers regrew and then she would fly away to rejoin the other storks.
She had other ideas! She claimed ownership of the garden and she was quite possessive of it.
She flew freely but always returned to her garden and her daily meals , and was never tempted to migrate with the other storks.
The cats were fascinated by her and she made friends with the dogs recovering in her garden.
She was very special.
We dont know how old she was but we do know that she was very loved for nearly 4 years. Yesterday she was fine, but she didn't wake up this morning.
We will miss her terribly and we know many of you will mourn her passing.
Fly free dear Storky. There will always be a special place in our hearts for you.

Night night sweet dreamies

We all have our doubts our insecurities and those little things that unsettle us
But remember, they are only small parts of your story not the whole of who you are
Never let the things you struggle with make you forget all the wonderful things you are

Pavel Datsyuk was one of the most dangerous shootout players in NHL history.

Datsyuk scored 40 goals on 98 shootout attempts, an insane 40.8% success rate.

🚨 AN UNYIELDING BLOCKADE / A THIRD FAMINE LOOMS: The Israeli occupation has been actively obstructing all aid and essential goods from entering Gaza for two consecutive weeks, stripping us of the barest necessities of life. This engineered strangulation has triggered a ridiculous hyperinflation, driving prices to a staggering 10x normal cost. As these tight restrictions persist, the humanitarian crisis worsens exponentially, and a looming third famine now directly threatens the survival of every single soul in Gaza. The World Food Programme (WFP) has already cut off monthly assistance for 500,000 people due to funding shortages, leaving half a million empty plates while local bakeries are forced to completely shut down due to a total lack of flour. 📈💔
In the picture below, my wife is making bread.
Every single night, the sky rains fire, explosive robots carrying tons of TNT detonate to shake our souls, and the non-stop bombardment continues from land, air, and sea. In this lawless dark, my wife, my son Ayman, and my daughter Julia are holding onto survival. Thanks to our proactive planning, the 13 bags of flour (25kg each) I secured are keeping us breathing before this total blockade entirely dries us out. For our 17 innocent cats, I am still fighting to buy their supplies from the stores daily because animal food hasn’t completely run out yet, refusing to touch their strategic reserve. But our financial support is at a devastating standstill. 🐾📦

We are fighting to keep hearts beating where engineered starvation is the policy. To help us survive this ruthless blockade and break this frozen momentum, my human family and sanctuary desperately need a serious stand from you today. Your direct solidarity via PayPal (https://t.co/yfTFqJhED8) is our absolute last anchor to replace consumed food, sustain our kids, and cover emergency medical care.

Do not look away. Please be our amplifier today. Retweet, share, or stand with us. 🙏⏳
